? about Playtex drop-ins

I got some samples in a gift basket I won.  They are wide bottles.  Are all the Playtex drop-ins wide?  Do you know approx. how much the liners cost?  DS did better with wide bottles but Dr. Browns does not make wide in BPA-free so I am trying to figure out some options and since I have these 6 sample bottles I thought I might try them.

Re: ? about Playtex drop-ins

  • We just used the old-school playtex liners instead of the drop-ins. They're so much cheaper. It's been a couple of years, so I can't remember the price.
  • The liners are about $6 for 100 if you get the Target brand and $9 for the platex here.  DD refused Avent and Dr. Browns, she loved platex with the latex nipple.

  • we used the playtex drop-ins with DD and will be using them again for DS.  I LOVED them though...so convenient.  The liners are around $8 or so for 100 liners.  I was bfing also though, so we didnt go through tons of liners like you would if you ff.  They are great though and DD took to it right away...we used the silicone nipple.

  • I usually paid about $7 for 100 of the 10oz expandables (the most expensive size and Playtex brand). I can't say enough good things about the drop-ins. I especially love that once DC was up to 7-8 oz., I could get the 10oz expandables and never dealt with spillage. Plus, I attibute DS's lack of gas to the drop-ins b/c you can squeeze most of the air out of the liner. I've never even seen the old school liners; the preformed drop-ins are awesome.
