Happy Monday!

I'm starting a list of freezer meals because I discovered after my first and going back to work that as much as I love to cook, I didn't want to whip up a fresh home cooked meal every night when I got home from work. And since I like to cook and have done most of the cooking since I finished law school, my husband is not great at putting meals together anymore. That may change with the arrival of this baby, but in anticipation and with a chest freezer that is no longer full of just breast milk, I'm making a list of freezer meals I'd like to have ready over the next 19 weeks. Does anyone have any go-to meals they freeze? I can share what I've put together if anyone is interested, they are all from Pioneer Woman and my favorite, Smitten Kitchen.
I always thought to honor her at his birthday with a big sister anniversary cake, or something like that as she's much older (she'll be 7) and he wont remember this, but she will. We are having family and friends over for his 1st and the party is for him, however, i'm thinking to do something to congratulate her on 1st year of being a big sister? B/c of the large age gap, and she understands, etc....anyone else doing this or have ideas for this thought? Thanks!

Although my LO still wakes up for a feeding, we've both been getting great sleep at night! However, naps are a whole other story! Unless I'm out driving him around, he will not fall asleep on his own! At night, I put him down while he's awake and he barely makes a peep. But I cannot get him to nap at home for the life of me! A while ago I started putting him in the car seat and rock him to get him to sleep, but even that has stopped working. Advice for nap training??

Our August baby's are nearly 4 months old now, so I wanted to ask, do you ever leave your baby just to have a little break? My partner works a lot, so all responsibilities are left on me, changing, bathing, feeding and even at night we sleep in separate room, because my partner works. My baby wakes up often at night, nearly every 2hours, so I'm not having proper sleep either. My partner will look after him like an hour a day, just play a bit, and while he's doing that I'm cleaning house, I haven't stopped for long time, if I sit down he's expecting me to take baby back on my hands. So I thought would it be ok, just to go out for 1-2 hours at least once a week and have a coffee?just sit down and have a little break? Or it's bit too early to leave little one for so long just with dad? We don't have parents leaving close to us, so he's really the only person I can ask for help.

Hi ladies! My LO absolutely hates the car seat. When we get in the car she freaks out creaming and crying. It does not stop...the longest we have gone is 20 min before giving up and pulling over. This happens every time we get in the car with the exception of twice because she fell asleep after I prolonged her nap for as long as I could. I live ina small town so anywhere I need to go for shopping is at least 45 min away and I cant go alone because she loses it so badly. She is 3 months old and it has not gotten any better. I have a 16 month old as well and between my older daughter not being able to walk with us without running off and my double stroller not fitting in my car, and my LO screaming so badly she starts hyperventilating...I am stranded at my house all day while DH works. I cant go anywbere during the day. I want to go to the park, grocery shop and go to doc visits alone but I cant. It doesnt seem safe to pull over on the freeway constantly to calm her only to have her start up again as soon as she is back in her seat. Has anyone else had a similar issue? I could use all the help I can get.
So here is a place for us to put our "Mom Confessions"

Mine are:

- I have gotten way to good at holding the bottle with my chin to reach for my phone, and learning to use said phone one handed.

- I came to check on DS this morning during his nap and noticed he had spit up everywhere. All on himself and his sheets. I felt so horrible. I suck at the whole burping thing. Obviously need to work a little harder.

I was being polite then, but I was thinking NO WAY! I believe CIO would be emotionally traumatic for LO, DH, and myself. Just can't do it. A few family and friends did give us books on baby sleep though, and they seem more reasonable than CIO. I haven't decided what to do yet (LO is 4 weeks old, and the books suggest starting at 6-8 weeks old). Any thoughts? Could experienced moms share what you did and if it worked?
First off, sorry for the TMI and I hope I don't freak any FTMs out. I'm just in need of advice.

I delivered my son in April 2014 and after 2 hours of pushing, I had an episiotomy, which led to a 4th degree tear. Fortunately, I didn't feel it happen and the doctor who delivered me did a great job stitching me up...I haven't had any issues! But, the recovery was long and painful. I sat on ice packs for a few weeks, took stool softeners for a month, sitz baths daily, and experienced a ton of pain! Sex for the first few times was difficult also (even though my stitches healed after 6-weeks).

My OB/GYN recommends an elective c-section with my second delivery to prevent another tear, and incontinence issues as a result. She said some patients had to have reconstructive surgery afterwards.

At first I didn't think twice about it and thought it was the best decision also. But there's a chance I won't even tear again and could have a regular vaginal delivery with little complications. I'm just worried about the recovery from a c-section and having to care for 2 kids (even though my husband is amazing and I know my family will help if needed). I'm also nervous about the surgery itself! Just laying there, cut open, unable to bond with my baby when she comes out.

What would you ladies do? Am I just psyching myself out? I'd love to hear from STMs and how your recovery from a c-section was.

I had a c section a week ago now and supply still hasn't come in. I can average maybe half an ounce total during pumping from both breasts total if I'm lucky. The LO lost a pound in two days so we have been having to supplement formula. I start out by having him feed from each breast and then giving him the bottle. Problem is he won't feed very long from the breast and will fall asleep after a few minutes even though I try to keep him simulated (skin to skin, rub head, feet, hands, arms) and then when he unlatches and wakes up he will refuse to latch again and just wants the bottle. I'm thinking it is easier to get fed from the bottle and he knows this so he won't really try on the breasts. I'm discouraged because my milk supply still hasn't come in and the way he doesn't want to feed from me. I'm trying power pumping (5 on 5 off), breastfeeding 8 to 12 times a day and then pumping, lactation tea/cookies but I still don't have a big enough supply to feed LO. I also have a thyroid disease which the LC and nurses always ask about. Any one else experience this? Any advice?

I think I told everyone that, a few weeks ago, I asked for a raise at work and was told "yes" by my boss. I was asking for a raise because, when I was hired over two years ago, I was told that I could be promoted into a new role upon completion of training. That new role is at the next pay scale up and has since been eliminated, so I was never given the new title or the new pay, which led me to ask for a raise. I found out yesterday that the raise I was approved for is still well below the minimum amount I would've received had they given me the role I was supposed to get, and my pay is still about $15-20k/year under market average for this type of work.

So, I've officially decided that I want to look elsewhere. The question now is... when? And how? Has anyone here ever job-hunted during maternity leave? If I were to get a job offer while on leave, what would be the best way to handle giving notice? Do I make sure I can return to work for a couple of weeks prior to starting a new job? Do I just call them up and let them know I won't be back? I'm also trying to decide if I should start searching now (3 weeks before my due date) or just wait. The thing is, my DH and I are hoping to have him be a SAHD, which would be entirely possible if my job would've promoted me into the role they eliminated, or given me a raise that brought me even somewhat close to market average. I'm in sort of a "booming" field and tons of people have left this company for more money somewhere else, so I'm fairly sure I won't have any problems finding something. Any advice would be appreciated...
