@iiirene I’m so sorry that her reaction was not what you wanted or expected! It’s really interesting to me how people react to boy vs girl. When we announced my son we had numerous people say “aww did you want a girl?” … no, we wanted a healthy baby! Now with our second some have said “so if this one is a boy will you try again for a girl?” And my exact response has been “we want two healthy children! I love my son and would love to have another boy. We won’t be trying for a third as two is what we have always discussed and the outcome is 50/50 no matter what # child it is!” I don’t feel like anyone has those conversations when it’s a girl and that is just so bothersome!
I’m so excited you’re having a boy and it will be such a gift to your son!

On another note, I’m a tad disappointed in my moms reaction to me telling her it’s a boy. It wasn’t the worst reaction but she said something along the lines of “A girl would have been nice but we’ll love another little boy too” I am thrilled to be giving my son a little brother. We already have a name picked out. I love being a mama to boys and I feel like if you have anything besides excitement and congratulations to share when someone shared the sex of their baby then keep it to yourself.

@iiirene that's on your mom. Don't let it get to you. That's honestly one of the reasons we're keeping the sex a secret. I don't want anyone's opinion on anything related to the baby unless I ask for it, and the less we say, the less likely we are to get unwanted opinions.

🥰 it’s a boy!Anatomy scan went well. I was having quite a bit of anxiety about it since we have received so much bad news lately but the doctor said everything looks good. Unfortunately we weren’t able to talk about it much with her as she was getting called to go deliver a baby.

@karbaud Evidenced Based Practice just published 3 pocket guides - one of which talks about all the different types of inductions that can be done and weighs the pros and cons of each strategy. Plus they also have free articles on advanced maternal age risks and birthing positions to reduce the risk of tearing that is worth looking into.
@seeds_of_joy I totally understand the sweet cravings. I’m in the same boat. I hope you find the book useful. I will say, she uses a lot of almond, dairy and eggs in her recipes but offer a lot of dairy free alternatives which should help you significantly. There are some almond free recipes that will be useful to you. She has a good allergen index in the back to note which foods do not have almond and can use dairy alternatives.

Yesterdays scan. Baby measuring two days ahead at 11w4d. Heart rate was 168 which is exactly what it was last time at 7w5d. My doctor said he would hold his breath with me and we both took a big breath in before he placed it on my stomach. 🥺

Had probably the longest anatomy scan today, all because baby is super active and ridiculously stubborn! Anything the tech tried to look at, hands got moved to that very spot! Lots of thumb sucking and hands in face. But all is well so next u/s will be 2/15 when I'm 33 weeks.

Upcoming Appointments: AS this Wednesday
How are you feeling?: A lot better, small pains here and there but definitely on the up. Still not feeling any movement which makes my anxiety pretty constant. I am counting the minutes until Wednesday just to know everything is okay.
Rants/Raves: Rant, people have make subtle jokes about my weight and growth already like I am ginormous, and I feel like I am sort of tiny. I am already a little self conscious and crazy stressed if I am eating too much or too little. I don’t need outside comments from people who don’t know anything anyways. Rave, my husband has been so great and supportive with help around the house on days I have awful days at work. It has been so nice to be spoiled some!
