It's funny how it's the little things in life that mean the most...not where you live, or what you drive, or the price tag on your clothes... There's no dollar sign on a piece of mind, this I've come to know! *ZBB*
It has been a long week! I'm going to finally meet my friend's baby today after work. She was a micropremie born at 23 weeks. She got home a few weeks ago and I haven't seen her yet. No plans yet Saturday since DH has a class to take, so probably finally getting cards out and labeling gift bags. Sunday DH and I are going Christmas shopping. I may test before we go if my package arrives.

@NYTino24 Wow, that's so great to hear the baby was able to come home!
This weekend we have my H's company Christmas party, so that will be fun! Then, depending on how much snow we get, we might go to my MIL's on Sunday. It will be a busy but fun weekend!

**Possible TW** Tomorrow I am visiting a good friend to spend some time with her during a rough patch. It's the anniversary of her fiancee's passing and she is really struggling this week. It breaks my heart to see her so sad.**End TW**
Other than that doing some work and finishing holiday shopping!
I am going to be drinking lots of wine, eating lots of chocolate, and watching everyone around me freak out because of a bit of snow... I'm on the west coast, but am originally from Ontario, so a few inches of snow (which almost shuts the city down here) is no big deal to me
@Sailing_Mama same here! It snows and everything shuts down. DH and I actually drove all the way to work one day (we have an hour commute) when it snowed only to find out they closed work. It never even occurred to us to check!
@Tennis11785 I haven't had that happen to me, but that sounds horrible! I am thinking I may have to start copying my whole post on mobile before posting it
@jpearl2307 @Tennis11785 I dunno why not, but it hasn't actually done that to me for a while now. but it is definitely super annoying when it does! I have copied to the memo ap on my phone before posting so it's not lost.
@Sailing_Mama I feel somewhat the same about PNW snow (coming from Idaho) and I find the whole Seattle 'in snow, abandon car on hill and walk away' thing truly baffling, I will say that no one is equipped to deal with it. Why would you buy all-weather tires if you never need them? Why buy a snow shovel so you can use it once a year? And I still say, even if I'm not worried about me driving, I'm worried about every other dingbat who is terrible at driving in the snow. And..... Don't you understand?!?! She lives on a HILL!"
@Sailing_Mama@Kiki75 Should I be embarrassed that I am the kind of person to milk "it's snowing"? "It's snowing so I have to work from home" "The trains iced so I have to work from home"
@adirat I'm with you. I don't want to go out in that mess!
I got a haircut and I'm loving it! Totally last minute decision on my part. It's just a lob but I haven't switched up my look in forever so it's a big deal to me.
Tomorrow I am coercing people with food to come over and help decorate my tree
@adirat and @Saralee797 Well... there is milking it and using it as an excuse, and then there are the people who actually fall apart and can't function. It's just funny to see a whole city in a panic over a couple of inches of snow!
I went to the store yesterday to get my CD1 chocolate fix and I found a bag of "brownie cookies". Holy shit, they kind of taste like Count Chocula, and I am in fat kid heaven right now...
Whoo-hoo. The Christmas party was awesome. The comedian ripped on my BIL because they have 7 kids plus DH won a 28 inch smart TV, a drone and a $100 visa gift card. It was a pretty great night!
ETA I'm a little tipsy

Also we just saw a commercial for some drug that has a side effect about bone density and I made a boner joke. It's OK, we'll definitely be CD7 HIO later.
@antoto did you see arrival? It's getting great reviews but we haven't seen it yet. We saw Manchester by the sea last weekend. It was heartbreaking but such a good movie.

@BertieMeetsGertie YESSS! I was way more impressed than I thought I would be. It wasn't at all a run-of-the-mill alien movie. It was somehow simultaneously heartbreaking and hopeful. I highly recommend it Manchester by the Sea looks fascinating - I'll have to check it out!
