Hello. I hope everyone had a fabulous Labor Day weekend! Hugs to anyone who needs it.
I am at CD 5 and DH and I are on round 2 of Clomid. Just finished AF yesterday (thank goodness), so I am feeling better at least.
QOTW: I don't know what I would ask our dog or cat, that's a tough one. I think, for my cat, I would ask why in the world he will eat sunchips or crackers but not tuan, shrimp, or other normal 'cat foods'. I would ask our dog what she dreams of....although I am sure it is probably rabbits.
CD 3 here (boo!) and one of the worst months I've had for menstrual pain, so not sure the acupuncture/herbs are doing much.
mentally gearing up for IUI since we are now officially past cycle 12 with no luck on our own and apparently nothing wrong with either of us. our insurance covers nothing, which is why we decided to wait a full year before moving on to any medical interventions. Hoping it's really "not that expensive" like my OB says.
QOTW: I would ask my cat why he pees on throw pillows. I cannot fathom why they are offensive to him, but he will automatically pee on one within 5 mins of its existence on any couch or chair.

CD4 for me. I had the bloodwork and u/s to begin Round 2 of IUI this morning, and it looks like we're good to go. I'm switching to Letrozole this cycle, since I'm an over achiever on Clomid (RE's words).
Tomorrow we have an appointment with the RE to discuss the actual probability of IUI working with DH's low motility (since his count was so poor at the SA and again at the first IUI).
@PoeMasque I'm sorry AF is especially unpleasant this month! I hope you feel better soon.
@GoldenKeys Can you update my RX to Letrozole + trigger (probably) + IUI? Thanks!
QOTW: I would ask my cat what kind of toys she actually wants, since we've dropped an ungodly sum of money on toys she ignores or stares at in bemusement. I'd also tell her the vacuum is not an agent of the devil.
QOTW: If you could ask your pet 1 question, what would it be? (Substitute any animal if you have no pets) I have 6 cats and I would ask them all the same question. "Why do you feel the need to poop on the carpet when the litter boxes are clean?"
I know the answer. But it still frustrates me.

So I'm not sure where I belong anymore. I miscarried a couple weeks ago. You all know my story cause I'm certainly not new to the board. But I am not ready to ttc again I don't think, I'm also not ready to do further testing to find out why I have t-ttc. I'm lurking at the pregnancy loss board, but I'm not yet ready to post over there because it will mean that it actually happened. I actually miscarried. I'm not ready to go there yet. So I've kind of just vanished from the board. I think posting here today though is my first step to being ready. (If I can find the courage to click post that is...)
I would ask my dog what she is thinking when she suddenly attacks my feet while I'm walking. Or I'd ask her why she finds it so satisfying to pee on clothes that are left on the floor, even though she gets to spend lots of time outside to potty.

CD15 here and still haven't been able to turn an OPK so hopefully that happens in the next couple days. i only have this cycle and one more before our RE appt, that I dreaded making because infertility is so much more really once you make that appt.
How is it that I can want to be KU so bad but still feel too tired/not in the mood to BD?? I'm kicking myself because DH and I took the last two days off, we had company Sunday but yesterday I was just tired and not into it. Then when I basically tried to force myself to do it DH said "I can tell you're not into it at all, we don't have too"...which made me feel like crap and ended up leading to no BD. This planning BD stuff is so annoying.
QOTW: I would ask my dog why he has to be so damn picky about his treats! I swear I've spent so much money getting that dog treats that he just puts in his mouth and then spits out on the floor

So sorry for your loss, @mrswifeytoad! Take care of yourself!
I've started cramping, so I'm pretty sure AF is on her way in the next couple of days. I'll be calling to schedule my HSG soon. H has his SA on Thursday, so I'm hoping that goes well!
QOTW: I'm with @bababatty on the toys! My dog will play with sticks in the yard or a paper towel and ignore the million (some expensive) toys he has! I would definitely like to know his criteria for the perfect toy before I buy any more.

@mrswifeytoad I am so sorry for your loss. *hugs* @SoonToBeMommaHowe I completely understand. Planned BD is just not very fun. I have tried to keep it as fresh and fun as possible....but some days it just plain doesn't work. And after almost a year and a half of it, it gets a little tiring. We actually took a break from hard core trying several months back because it just became too much.
So I just about flipped my lid at work about an hour ago. I have mentioned numerous times about the number of pregnant women I am surrounded by at work. But to recap...over a year ago, we went through a spot where we had 3 people deliver all within several months of each other. Well, out of those 3...2 are for sure pregnant again (one is due in 2 months, one we just found out about and is 4 months along). Plus we had another girl who is due next month (she already has 6 kids). Now today, I had a staff member inform me that she heard the 3rd girl from the original 3 had 2 positive pregnancy tests. And let me just throw out as well that not a single one of these were planned...at all...not even considered at the time. I felt like throwing a tantrum and flipping the whole med cart over on its side. There's no other way to put it.....this just sucks. It sucks and it's not fair and I just want to scream.
@mrswifeytoad I am so sorry for your loss. Take care of yourself and take whatever time you need. We all wish you the best.
@SoonToBeMommaHowe I think we all get it. You try to keep the process fun for as long as possible, but at some point it becomes tons of meds, charting, and planning. Makes it hard to be in the mood for anything.
@hoffmanr7 That sucks! I totally get that. It's not so prominent at my work, but the constant kid talk and questions about if/when I want kids are very painful. It's hard to know how to react. I usually end up crying with my office door closed.
I'm on CD 5. Taking Clomid. Hoping AF will decide to go away already. For the record, my dx is PCOS. My current rx is Metformin and Clomid. Also, provera to kickstart AF. We have been TTC since Oct 2015.
QOTW: I have 5 dogs, but this applies to most of them. Why do you always have to run full speed into the bedroom every time the door opens?
@PoeMasque Compared to other treatments, I found IUI not that expensive. I had 3 u/s to monitor follicles at $163 a pop. The femara was like $10 and the trigger shot was $50. The actual IUI I want to say was $260. This may seem expensive, but I was actually pleasantly surprised because my insurance pays nada.
@SoonToBeMommaHowe I'm so very sorry for your loss. Take as much time as you need. We are here for you.
QOTW: I would ask my dog how I could be a better pet owner. I try to do as much as I can with her, but sometimes I worry she gets bored.

**trigger warning, loss mentioned**
This has been the longest, hardest week of my life. I am feeling so much better today, actually got some work done, but boy has it been tough!!!!! I know how common what I went through is, I think it was just a chemical pregnancy...my levels were always low and I took several HPTs throughout the week and they were always very faint, never got any darker. So I know it was never "really" there, I'm just struggling to believe that it's a good thing that we got pregnant...everyone keeps telling me I'll be pregnant again soon and I want to believe they're right but it's so hard! Really working on my mental and physical strength this month.
I have blood work on Monday to make sure my levels are back down to zero (I did finally stop bleeding) so I'm hoping to get some answers from my doctor then. Until then I'm just trying to relax and think about ANYTHING other than this, haha.

Hello. I found out last week that our first IUI failed. I was devastated. It seems like so much of a financial and emotional investment to have such poor chances. I talked to DH and we are going to move forward with IVF. I want to get in on this deductible/out of pocket max instead of starting over from scratch financially next year. I have hysteroscopy on Friday, consult and trial transfer next Wednesday.
@GoldenKeys - can you change my RX to IVF Round#1?

@SoonToBeMommaHowe I know what you mean about timing BDing, it's just annoying and tiresome. I was so thankful to take a break from it this month with the IUI.
@hoffmanr7 Those kinds of announcements at work are just the worst; The world is so unfair, you deserve children just as much as those other ladies. Hang in there!
@BWhitta You are strong, I know you can get through this. Each day you overcome is a day closer to your goal.
@Megzb510 We're in the middle of our first IUI, and I will feel very let down if it is a BFN too Unfortunately, it is a low odds procedure. I hope the road to IVF is short for you and ends successfully!
I'm 6 dpIUI and just trying to stay busy during this TWW. My family came to visit, and we went bike riding everyday. My Dr. thought the exercise would be good and increase blood flow; so here's hoping! The IUI was easier than I expected it to be, so if anyone is hesitating for that reason, it was easier than a pap smear.
@PoeMasque Our insurance doesn't cover anything either, we paid $725 (IUI + 1 ultrasound for monitoring) + $160 for meds (letrozole $10, ovidrel trigger $150) so $885 for 1 cycle.
QOTW: I would ask my dog what he wants out of life; I know he loves to go on adventures, and if there are places he wants to go, I would love to take him there. Maybe his life goal is just to eat more food

Hi ladies- I'm still benched while my dr has me on a combo of meds for off-label use. Something about my blood flow. I despise taking pharmaceuticals and it's been rough- I'm on Prozac, allpunirol, acyclovir, lovastatin and losartan. My head feels cloudy, I have headaches and since yesterday I feel like I have the flu and can't tolerate food never mind the meds. I'm supposed to recheck my TNF in 10 days. I also reread my notes from my visit with RE and I wrote down that exercise will help raise my TNF- I was instructed to do 30min of high impact cardio most days a week- and that has not been something I have been really doing consistently so I wonder if that contributed to my levels not moving. Trying to stay positive but I feel like crap and am traveling for work today
TTC since May 2013
Mild PCOS, Compound Heterozygous MTHFR No Folic acid/pharmaceuticals/supplements (too many to list- private message me if interested), IVIL infusion
Made it up to DC last night, and I had my ultrasound/bloodwork today. For once, everything is looking really good! My lining is great, my estrogen levels are great, DH is going to start injecting me with the progesterone oil tonight, and my transfer is going to be Monday!
QotW - I would ask my dog, Lucky, what happened to him with his first owners. We got him from a friend, who got him when a random person abandoned him with her at a pet store (he asked if she wanted to pet him, then said he would be right back and disappeared). He has had anxiety issues his whole life, and he has gotten better, but we are pretty sure they were abusive, and had kids that were mean to him.
@SoonToBeMommaHowe I talked to a therapist that said that BDing while going trough fertility issues can seem more like a job than like fun, especially when you get Drs involved who tell you when to do it and when not to. It helped me to think that it wasn't an abnormal thing for me to be going through.
@hoffmanr7 I know exactly what you mean! I have been in that position many times, and needing to separate myself to get upset in private because yet another person was "accidentally" pregnant when I am trying so hard to be! Especially when they go on and on about how this was a complete surprise, and they weren't expecting it.. I want to yell at them that they don't realize how damn lucky they are!
@WorldTraveler0522 - we are transferring around the same time! Fingers crossed for both of us
@lab lover- sorry you are not feeling well :x. I hope it gets better for you!
@starlitfae I like that question about the previous owner. One of my dogs is a rescue and he gets really nervous around trash bags and open car windows. Makes me wonder. I don't know how anyone could have done something to hurt him. He is the most expressive little pug I've ever seen.
@starlitfae and @bridge-and-wall I like that question too. It actually reminded me of what I really would ask my cat (I couldn't think of one when I first posted). I adopted him when he was 2, he had obviously had previous owners because he was declawed. I've noticed he always seems more 'reserved' or skittish around men...always made me wonder if something about his previous owners would explain it.
Hi everyone! I had an injection class today and am getting a mock ET done tomorrow to prep for IVF. Things are moving along with paperwork and insurance authorizations, woo hoo! I should be getting my meds delivered mid-month, and will likely start the end of September.
QOTW: If you could ask your pet 1 question, what would it be? We recently acquired a stray cat while on vacation. She is super friendly but has some old and recent injuries...so we brought her home to give her meds and TLC Anyways, I'd really be curious to know what her story is and how she ended up with a broken tail and scabby ears and nose...and if she had gotten lost somehow or if someone just abandoned her I guess that's more than one question haha. For our other 2 cats, I'm not sure...maybe why they suddenly get the crazies and dash madly around the house at night?

I updated this on my other post a few minutes ago but I will post here too:
Doctor looked at the medical printouts I brought from the
other doctor and the she immediately sided with my previous doctor and
told me that I was being rude and inconsiderate towards my other doctor
by wanting to be checked again by someone different. The doctor then
left the room I was in without saying anything and after 15 minutes of
not hearing anything else, I left.
Periods are still irregular so whatever is going on hasn't changed.
I talked to some friends and a
close co-worker and I have an appointment on October 4th for another
doctor that people claim to be good. If this one doesn't work out, I
feel like just giving up. I won't because messing with my health isn't
okay but its getting very stressful and frustrating. (Sorry I didn't
update sooner - been very busy).

@mandybeeslp Seconding what @reesaanne16 said, transvaginal ultrasounds are quite awkward, but they don't hurt at all. Mine was uncomfortable at times, but I'm rather small in that area, so that might be why.
@saphiresweetie88 I cannot believe that a professional in any field would treat you that way, much less a doctor in such a sensitive area! I'm so incredibly sorry! You always have the right to advocate for yourself, including getting a second (or third) opinion. Many hugs to you!

I got my CD21 test results today and my prolactin was within the normal range this time (Yay! I will be cancelling my endocrinology appointment) but my progesterone is low (2.4 ng/ml). We are going to continue with the rest of the tests we have scheduled now and if nothing else notable turns up we will probably move ahead with a medicated cycle (probably Clomid, but she will talk to me more about this later) in October.

I know the answer. But it still frustrates me.
Clomid 50;100;150;200: No O

BFP 11/5/2016 ~ EDD 7/19/2016
@SoonToBeMommaHowe I completely understand.
And that is the end of my rant.

@StephyM89 Yay!! Congrats girl!
@PoeMasque
Our insurance doesn't cover anything either, we paid $725 (IUI + 1 ultrasound for monitoring) + $160 for meds (letrozole $10, ovidrel trigger $150) so $885 for 1 cycle.
QOTW: I would ask my dog what he wants out of life; I know he loves to go on adventures, and if there are places he wants to go, I would love to take him there. Maybe his life goal is just to eat more food

Hi everyone!
@mrswifeytoad - *hugs*

Doctor looked at the medical printouts I brought from the other doctor and the she immediately sided with my previous doctor and told me that I was being rude and inconsiderate towards my other doctor by wanting to be checked again by someone different. The doctor then left the room I was in without saying anything and after 15 minutes of not hearing anything else, I left.
Periods are still irregular so whatever is going on hasn't changed.
I talked to some friends and a close co-worker and I have an appointment on October 4th for another doctor that people claim to be good. If this one doesn't work out, I feel like just giving up. I won't because messing with my health isn't okay but its getting very stressful and frustrating. (Sorry I didn't update sooner - been very busy).

I'm on CD1 of Cycle 18. I went in for my CD 21 bloodwork on Tuesday and I am scheduled for a transvaginal ultrasound and maybe some more labs this coming Monday. DH has his SA next week as well so hopefully we have some answers soon.
ETA: Sorry if this is repetitive, does the transvaginal ultrasound hurt or is it uncomfortable?
QOTW: I would ask my cat, Phoenix, why she likes to sleep curled up next to us but won't let us pick her up. What's up with that?
Fur babies: Phoenix and Yeti (both cats).

@saphiresweetie88 I cannot believe that a professional in any field would treat you that way, much less a doctor in such a sensitive area! I'm so incredibly sorry! You always have the right to advocate for yourself, including getting a second (or third) opinion. Many hugs to you!

Thanks! I will keep my fingers crossed for you and your DH. I had a transvaginal ultrasound a few years ago (for something unrelated) and it didn't hurt at all. It was a bit uncomfortable for a couple minutes but that was it.

Fur babies: Phoenix and Yeti (both cats).
