My cats are assholes. We apparently miscommunicated last night and the cats didn't get their last meal. They responded by repeatedly running over my head at 3:30 am to get my attention. And now I am wide awake.
Oh well, at least my Tigers won, so I'm preoccupying myself with game recaps/analysis until I fall back to sleep.
Went to a Halloween/birthday party last night in a "couple's" costume, as a tether ball set: I (or rather the bump) was the tether ball, SO was the pole (he's tall and skinny already). We had iron-on letters indicating our roles on our costumes.
Anyway, we've made a pregnancy agreement that when we're home alone, he doesn't drink (out of solidarity), but if we are out with friends he can imbibe. This rule has caused some serious binge-drinking in my SO; it seems like he gets so excited to make up for lost time that he over-drinks when we're out. Even though he's a "lovey" drunk, he's still obnoxious and embarrassing. Guess what pregnant lady had the honor of cleaning up puke on the floor and bed in the middle of the night?
Seriously considering a full solidarity clause from here on out! What a pole.
@seekthejoy that sucks that your h feels like he has to make up for lost time when he drinks, especially having to clean up puke. Yuck!
I don't really mind if my h has a glass of wine or a beer here and there at home. We aren't big drinkers as it is, but I do think it's sweet that he asks if it's ok to open a bottle. Most of the time I remind him that he's an adult and can have a glass if he wants it. Sometimes I take a sip just for a taste. I have recently been craving hard ciders. I am looking forward to that first bottle of beer. Yum!
Your costume is cute btw.
I have been soo irritated at work tonight. I would have loved to have been home snuggling with my h who I won't get to sleep with till Wednesday! I love helping him pack for conferences, because he has to dress up and he just looks soo damn fine in a suit. Anyway, I am looking forward to next weekend when we can finally paint outer house. It's in soo much need of love.
@almeyer2013 I can't wait to fix up my house either! We are planning on painting this week. I'm excited to start actually doing something for this little critter!
My random is that, while I have been a full time lurker, I don't ever post. I did an intro a long time ago but never became an active contributor for a number of reasons. So I'm going to try to change that.
@seekthejoy I'm sorry you had to clean up puke! Yea I get a little salty when my FI drinks hard liquor when we are alone. I'm always sitting there like wtf, seriously dude. I don't think I've gotten use to the sobriety at parties so they are never fun.
Nice costume though! Clever!
((Random)) I had a dream about the zombie apocalypse. Long story short, the zombies learned how to use guns. We were all fucked on so many levels.
A/S this morning at 11, annndd it's my birthday (AW)! I really could care less about my birthday, but I'm praying everything goes well with the ultrasound. Have a great day, ladies!
@almeyer2013 2013 Omg I want a hard cider real bad, especially this time of year. But really all year.
@aylaroman15 your zombie dream sounds horrific. Especially since my plan had always involved picking up the crossbow, should the apocalypse be nigh.
Still can't believe I know I'm having a boy. We're so excited, the ultrasound was overwhelmingly and just... wow. "It" is now "he"! @nomnommama I learned that I also have an anterior placenta and these flutters I've been feeling were confirmed in the U/S to be kicks! Who knew! Excited for the first, unmistakable kick that I can discern from behind my uterine iron curtain.
@CoozieInMyPurse cats! Ah! I sympathize. My dog, who is 19 and looks like a cat, is also now an asshole, too. She's amazing and in great health for her crazy age, except that she is now deaf, and she uses the doggie for to pee at 4 am and then she barks so we will let her back in the house. Every. Day. She's totally milking the whole I am 130+ years old routine.
Guise, I am 21 weeks. This is my loss milestone. I want to jump over this week to 22 because I am terrified and scarred. I am grateful I am here but 21 feels like bad luck for me and I want to run away from it. Junebug has been kicking a lot all night. I just want to cry. Too many feels all around.
@cesquer What a huge week this is for you. I'm no expert, but I think all you can do is be the awesome, positive mama you are and blow through this week and onward. I love that she's sending your sweet reminder kicks of her presence. Maybe that can be your peace? I'll be thinking of you.
Happy birthday @surpriseoldlady !!! @salmphil hell yea! A crossbow sounds badass. My two swords did nothing compared to the zombies with ducking bazookas!
Hai guise. I'm a miserable pile this morning. Started having a sore throat last night and it has majorly snowballed. Past couple days I was feeling my throat feel funny but nothing that I even really thought about. Now it's full blown hurting bad. I've been stuffy on and off but who hasn't this pregnancy? Didn't sleep worth a darn, been coughing all night. I looked at my throat and it's not red, just has a lot of post nasal drip-yuck. Now I can't quit coughing and I'm so congested. And headache. Blahhhhhh. I really don't want to take any medicine either. Here's to hoping supportive care will help.
@cesquer I can relate with the dog thing. My oldest is 13 and for the past several months he gets up and barks in the night, needs a drink of water and to go out to pee. Happens every night. And here's to hoping this week passes by extra fast for you! Hugs.
wish i could say good morning girls, But woke up with a bad headache..so not such a good morning for me. #-o babys woke up at 7, then they start to fight over a balloon, so early in the morning, i no its gonna be a day!!
I had a vivid dream that I went to my yoga studio for a class and no one was there, so I just rolled out my mat and started stretching anyway. While I was in there, the owner and instructors came in and were furious with me for being there without anyone else and kicked me out and told me to never come back. As soon as I stepped outside of the studio, some lawyers for the whole shopping center the studio is in (not just the studio) told me to come with them and we would draw up papers to sue them, even though I didn't want to. They were very detailed in their papers on how I was wronged, and then had me go back to yoga in a disguise to get more dirt on them. It was... weird.
@cesquer what a bitter sweet week for you, so many hugs.
So I am SOO happy we decided to go to that show to see one of our favorite bands, Jimmies Chicken Shack. They've around since DH and I were one and grew up to them thanks to our parents and getting to watch them play from 5 feet away totally amazing. Then, after the show we ended spening the next hour with the drummer and he bought DH 2 shots and 3 beers. Made for a complete wasteface of a husband, but ill let him have this one it was hilarious to watch DH and his best friend fanboy all over the place. And he pat my stomach and said "hello nice to meet you!" to my stomach. I coulda gone with out the pat but still so cool!
@surpriseoldlady happy birthday! I had to work a trunk at our trunk or treat last night. Dd was feeling better so I wanted my dh to bring her. He says he couldn't get her to get in the car seat after twenty min of trying and just let her play in the car. Um. Really. So they never showed and my dd would have had so much fun. The event ended at nine and when i got home my dh couldn't even wait up for me and was already in bed. We didn't get a date night last night because our dd being sick and then he can't even wait up for me to get home to hang out.
As for me, I bought my first pack of diapers today (with a coupon!) and it was weird. I still feel like I'm buying them for someone else's kid. I'm not sure when it will sink in. I also got H some new deodorant and the scent was purely based on how sexy I want him to smell. It was good.
Me(29), DH (29) Married December 2011 TTC#1 Since November 2013 Dec. 2013... BFP! 12/31/13... Natural M/C 1/29/14 (8 weeks) July 2014...BFP!... 17dpo beta 581...19dpo beta 1419!!.. stick baby, stick! EDD: 3/20/15.. It's a boy!
Any one else getting dry skin in the wirdest damn places? My back? I have never before in my life gotten dry skin on my back. Man oh man it is so itchy i am wearing my skin raw scratching it anyway time to try to get myself and SO motivated to get to church lol his alarm went off and I'm currently standing over him begging him to get the freak out of bed and he is practically crying to me cuz he doesn't want to get up. It really is sad that a grown man can't get the heck out of bed on his own. I'm not kidding with you, After 20 minutes now l STILL have not been able to get him to put his feet on the damn floor yet and i really really don't have the energy to drag his feet around. Uhgggghhh
March 15' January Siggy Callenge: Animals Being Jerks
To keep with the recent theme, a little Lionel Richie for your listening pleasure. This is the Sunday random thread.
You made my day. I love Lionel Richie without irony.
Today I need to buy some new underwear that doesn't cut into my belly. I only have a couple of pairs of bikini styles that sit under my belly and my usual briefs are getting too tight on my bump.
Today is going to be spent studying for a test on the Gospels and Acts, reading a book about Down syndrome, starting a research paper on hemimegalencephaly and studying for a pathophysiology exam. I also have to find time in between those things to continue packing our house. I've never been so glad that my husband has nothing but his job to do -- if we were both in school or he had any other kind of extracurriculars besides playing video games and building things with Lego, we would be totally fucked when it comes to moving out of our house for the renovations.
Lots of positive thoughts for you this week @cesquer
18 weeks for the boys. Only thing I have planned is the grocery store and a Brazilian. Issue is the southbound lanes of the freeway are closed at my exit, so it might take me an hour to get from my neighborhood to the feeder/access road. Grrr. I'll be glad when this construction is done!
@surpriseoldlady happy birthday! I'm glad you get to see your LO as a present today
@cesquer thinking of you! I can't imagine the anxiety but I would feel so reassured by your "kicks of love"
@khansil5 so glad you're feeling better! Food poisoning is probably the worst pain I've ever had.
My random is that after my awful Friday, I got home yesterday at 2 and laid on the couch til 8:30 and then slept for almost 13 hours. It feels amazing and I am SO going to miss being able to do this once Ava gets here but she's totally worth it
My random: My MIL bought me a snoogle yesterday! Hurray! I just washed the cover this morning and can't wait to try it. Even better- my DH is back from his 2 week business trip this afternoon and it's our 6 month wedding anniversary! I feel like I'm going to explode with happiness and cry because I missed him so much. Rushing around to get the house cleaned and ready for him. I like him to come home to a clean house so he can feel extra relaxed about coming home. Okay….it's starting to get sappy in here.
@cesquer I hear you. The milestones are hard. Thinking of you this week.
I want this week to fly by too. For me it's Halloween on Friday. This is the third time I should be pregnant on Halloween. I never have been. Owen was due 11/11, and was born 9/28. Noah was due 3/1 and stillborn 10/19. So I'm terrified something will go wrong by Friday.
I'm also 22w today, so if we can make it to next Sunday, he'll be at the point where the NICU would try to save him. So I'm team "can it be next week?"
Crap I already forgot who said they're getting a Brazilian but I've decided I need to do this. I'm so tired of all the shaving and is it just me or is anyone else's hair (all over) growing at a much faster rate than before KU?
@cesquer I'm 19 weeks today and also entering my loss week this week. We can hold hands and blow through these milestones with flying colors! Thinking of you this week. ((Hugs))
We have a busy day ahead including grocery shopping, a birthday party and a Target run. I slept awkward and my back and stomach hurt so I hope some walking around will help. Happy Sunday all.
I'm gonna try one of these: @CoozieInMyPurse: I love me some Lionel Ritchie;). @seekthejoy: the costumes sound adorable, sorry about your h over imbibing. @beckyj2013: happy early birthday to your son. @katydid2014, @RQuinlin, and @nomnommama: happy 21 weeks ladies!! @aylaroman15: I hate bad dreams too I have em every night. @surpriseoldlady: happy birthday and good luck at your as. @salmphil: congrats on your boy. @cesquer: happy 21 weeks I know it must be bittersweet. @mangomimosa: happy hump week!! @thejucheidea: good luck on that test. @MrsLaurenandDan: happy 22 weeks, hugs to you and enjoy your first pregnant Halloween. @chaysefaith: happy 19 weeks and hugs to you also, I can't imagine the mixed feelings you must have. I had a couple more I wanted to tag so forgive me if I forgot you. As for me: today is 23 weeks!! Is that the viability week? I'm happy to feel my baby daily now and I'm loving my baby kitten, he's so cute and well behaved. I'm still struggling with a name for my daughter, I loved some of the suggestions but my H is so stubborn, he vetoes everything yet offers no suggestions except Maria. I hope everyone has a great day and Go Eagles!! Right @janda426?
Also... because posting in FFFC late Saturday afternoon does not yield responses: I confess that I missed what happened with our mod situation. I thought we voted on a 2nd mod ... is B"J" just being slow?
@Surpriseoldlady happy birthday! and good luck with your fetal survey!
Positive vibes to all the milestone ladies today!
Wow is everyone starting out their mornings crappy. I started out not being able to find my pants but that's because mother in law decided to show up last week and steal my friggin laundry to do and rearrange all my shit in my BEDROOM. no it is not ok that she is in my personal room and no i do not want her touching my freaking underwear. I have a feeling this personal boundary shit is only going to get worse when the baby comes. Unfortunately I have to rely on my husband to talk to her because she doesn't speak English.
Saturday night: "I did those dishes and cleaned out the fridge." I love my husband; he's so awesome.
Sunday morning: *fat girl skip to the kitchen...looking for Chinese leftovers from Saturday afternoon...realizes they've been tossed. I might stab my husband with spoons if he were here.
I've had a wonderful morning so far. It's my "year and a half anniversary" (we like celebrating all the things) so nothing like some morning sexy time, egg and cheese on a bagel and OJ.
Unfortunately I have a psych midterm due today and we still have to clean from our party Friday. Lame. Also I'm so over halloween. Ready for thanksgiving & Christmas now plz
We are doing a Thanksgiving trial run today, and I'm looking forward to it! We are cooking the turkey in DH's smoker (he loves that thing) with apple wood. I am making a pumpkin pie from scratch (I roasted the pumpkins yesterday), and then we will have mashed potatoes and stuffing.

I'm 20 wks 2ma!!! Still barely feeling this little guy due to AP. But yay for being half-baked!
@seekthejoy Cute costume! But that sucks about the puke.
@almeyer2013 I miss my hubby too when I'm at work at night. I hate that half the week we don't get to go to sleep together.
@graciest719 Welcome!
@surpriseoldlady Happy bday and A/S day!
