Happy to have survived the last couple of weeks (household issues with contractors). I'm very ready for the 2nd trimester. I'm hoping the fatigue and nausea will ease up some more then.

5) Any upcoming appointments, milestones, rants or raves?

Next appointment is Thursday for Verifi blood draw. Results will take longer. I find that I get somewhat anxious about these appointments. I wonder if that'll ever change.

QOTW: What body image/body change issues are you going through at this stage of your pregnancy? What are you doing about them?

Where do I start? My highlights have grown out. I'm not coloring my hair during pregnancy. I have to wait a few months before I can fake an ombre. I have to part my hair a certain way to hide the grays. My hair also feels like hay. Not sure if that's because of chemical + heat damage pre-pregnancy, or hormonal changes. I'm gonna have to cut a few inches off soon.

I've been wearing my fat jeans. I think I look awful in them because they fit around my waist but they're baggy everywhere else. I'm not even sure I'm showing yet (FTM). I think it's bloating from slower digestion. I don't think a Bella Band will work with my thinner jeans so I think I'm gonna buy maternity jeans soon.

I have lost my sexy and just feel like a mom now. I'm to sick to care about my hair, haven't shaved my legs, and don't really plan on doing anything about them. I figure I'm going to get fat and I'll just fix it later.

DS1 will turn 3 right after DS2 arrives. Furbaby is almost 5 mo

4) How are you feeling?
Physically- great. I had a virus earlier this week that sapped my energy and appetite, but now that it is gone, I'm feeling fine. Mentally- rough. I contract and have been between contracts since mid-July. I've had some great interviews, but nothing has panned out (and I've actually had a hiring manager say that I should reapply once I'm ready to work FT- like I'm not capable of working now). I'm in a funk over all of it and am starting to plan for not working again until after Thanksgiving b/c that is what it is looking like will happen.

5) Any upcoming appointments, milestones, rants or raves?
Next appointment on Monday and I'll go every 2 for a few weeks and then every week until he arrives.

QOTW: What body image/body change issues are you going through at this stage of your pregnancy? What are you doing about them?
None really. I like being pregnant and proudly display my bump. I was able to get back to my pp size and wear all of my pp clothes after my first so I'm hopeful that I will be able to do the same this time around.

4) How are you feeling?
Don't even go there....Nothing makes my stomach feel better. I'm maxed out on Zofran, Zantac, and Tums. My doc is starting me on diclegis and switching me to Pepcid today. Until then, I have constant nausea and feel like a big burp would fix it, but there is no burp. I'm living on a diet of carbs and dairy to keep things settled the best I can. And the fatigue seems SO MUCH WORSE this time around. Maybe it is because I have a LO at home now when I didn't before. I don't know.

No major milestones. Lots of rants. The rants are mostly covered in the "how are you feeling right now" section and the QOTW

What are you doing about them?After my last pregnancy, I lost all of my baby weight plus another 10-15lbs by working with a personal trainer and eating a paleo diet. Now I've regained the 10-15lbs in the first month of pregnancy just because I've gone off the diet and feel too sick and tired to exercise. I plan on restarting both once the first trimester yuckiness ends. But I'm frustrated, like all of my hard work the past year meant nothing. I'm right back to where I started with my first pregnancy, which was more than I should weigh. I was really hoping that I could start this pregnancy healthier and not need to lose quite so much weight afterwards. But no.Plus I'm already in maternity pants. At 7 weeks. And I know that deep down, it is probably bloating related to my poor diet and not a baby bump yet.

Still pretty crappy. I have the opposite of morning sickness, I feel fine in the morning, I always feel worse after I eat, especially lunch and dinner, my worst hours are between 1pm and bedtime. My boobs aren't as sore as they were, so it's nice to not be feeling multiple things at once.

5) Any upcoming appointments, milestones, rants or raves?
I just had my 10wk US appt where they drew blood for Mat21 test, hoping to get results by next Friday, if not, at my follow up appt Sept. 2nd w/ OB. The baby looked huge (vaginal US) compared to 3 weeks ago and happy to see baby is actually baby-shaped now. Strong 176bpm heartbeat, always very reassuring, big sigh of relief and tears of joy included.

Well... I was already overweight when I got pregnant, which is why I am so relieved each appointment that everything is going so well, I had a lot of health issues that took 7 months to resolve and thought the weight would start coming off once I found out I had hypothyroidism and we got meds and everything in check, but Dr. still scratching head after diet changes, levels in range and daily exercise, weight has not budged. So for me, I wonder if anyone will be able to tell I'm pregnant. I do have sort of an hourglass shape and had a pretty flat stomach under my boobs, so even though I was overweight, I had a shape to me - I'm also 5'11" so I don't look as heavy as I am, but now my stomach is all puffed out b/c of bloating, so I just feel so huge! It's even uncomfortable for my arms when I'm sitting, I don't know where to put them! :-S

Oh! @NeonNoon I got a Bella Band and it actually works quite well, I just use a hair tie/schrunchie (whatever you call them) through my jeans button hole and loop the button to hold it together better and I can still get the zipper up about halfway. It's still fairly comfortable right now, but I will definitely switch over to maternity pants as soon as its not, comfort is #1 priority right now!

This week has been rough. Light brown spotting started this week. I'm in prog suppositories twice daily. Scan was ok with baby showing strong hb 165 and good for dates. So we r not sure of the reason but was told by practitioner it's pretty common unless I start cramping etc.Then the migraines/ sinusitis started 3 days ago and suffering badly had to finally take paracetamol/ Tylenol and it helps, but I'm trying not to be dependant on it.
5) Any upcoming appointments, milestones, rants or raves?
Finally see my OB at 9+2 days this coming week and discharged from RE!
QOTW:
Bloat++. Gained 5 pounds. Bought Bellaband. No energy and avoiding too much walking with issues this week. Constipated trying prune juice. Hate cooking now and seem to love carbs and 'bad' good but I luv kel honey nut crunchies!

4) How are you feeling? Well I was just discharged from hospital after a two day stint. Had a a flank ache that I thought might be a kidney infection. I e-mailed my Dr to get a lab slip and a script and after I got the confirmation that it was a UTI, I woke up from my nap with major chills and a fever, called L&D and they told me to come in. When they hooked baby up to the monitor heart rate was sky high so because of the fever they admitted me for IV antibiotics and fluid. Those beds sucked. I slept like a log last night though in my own bed!!

5) Any upcoming appointments, milestones, rants or raves? I go in to my OB on Wednesday she stopped by to visit me at the hospital and told me I will most likely be on oral antibiotics for the rest of my PG. Great, hello yeast infections :-(

QOTW: What body image/body change issues are you going through at this stage of your pregnancy? What are you doing about them? I feel like PG releases all my hang ups about my body. I love to look at my body and see how amazing PG is and what I am doing inside there. It's also something I think when I look at my girls that I grew them inside of me!! It's mind boggling!!! I always have my shirt up looking at my belly and watching the baby move the girls love it too! I also love that my DH looks at me with a smug grin on his face and I can just imagine him thinking "Yeah I did that to you" LOL! When I'm not PG I like to run and try to stay fit but I'm not skinny. I have more body image issues when I'm not PG, though I told my hubby that after this baby comes out it's mommy time and I will get to where I wanted to be before I turned 40!

@mandyreads much! I was so tired and sore but now even the flank pain is better!! I think it helped to sleep in my own bed. I don't wish kidney infections on anyone. This is my second one this PG. Not sure why they keep happening. Going to talk to my DR on Wednesday and hopefully get some answers.

When I PG with my oldest DD my aunt who was in her mid-50's died from an un-diagnosed UTI that spread to her kidneys and shut them down. It freaks me out whenever I get one.

No major changes w my body just yet but def fearful of gaining tons of weight. I was very active before I got pregnant so I'm making sure to continue physical activities as long as I feel good enough to do so! I was halfway thru training for a half marathon when I found out I was pregnant!

What are you doing about them? - I'm huge. I can no longer wear pants since their so tight on my tummy

@NeonNoon Thanks- it goes with the territory in the contracting world so to a certain extent it is what it is. I have a few possibilities still out there so something might work out otherwise, it could be nice to just be off between now December/January- not nice to be down to one income, but good for our family, which is the more important part. I have a few folks who I've done some side work for in the past who usually have little stuff that they need help with (so a day-week worth of work) so I'll pick up a few projects while I wait.

4) How are you feeling? Crummy. I am struggling with MS and fatigue. I get dizzy or feel queasy standing for very long, and I feel like I'm trying to do everything I can to manage the 24-7 nausea. I know it's just a while longer and for good reasons, but oy.
5) Any upcoming appointments, milestones, rants or raves? I'm really looking forward to this relaxing. There are a few times when I feel okay, and it's really wonderful...if sadly short lived.

We are doing the testing for DS and neuro tests, so there's that underlying concern but also not much worry since there's not much we can do except find out and move on from there.

QOTW: What body image/body change issues are you going through at this stage of your pregnancy? What are you doing about them? I'm not showing, and part of that is because of course - I didn't lose all the weight I wanted to before I got pregnant...so there's this kind of doubled up shame. Plus, now I can't stand much of anything being tight or constricting, so I'm full on in my flowy dresses and tunics.

BONUS RANT: As a woman who is a pear shape and has been lamely endowed my entire life - I am really kind of disappointed with the whole boob growth thing. While they've grown, they're now just slightly bigger than swollen bee stings instead of just glorified bee stings. *sigh*

was bleeding so went to the dr yesterday and got to see a little heart beat on the US!! Dr shocked me by saying there was another sack but they didn't see a heartbeat, but didn't want to rule out twins!! oh my...QOTW: What body image/body change issues are you going through at this stage of your pregnancy? What are you doing about them?
right now not much but oily hair and face, been trying a variety of shampoos, foundations, moisturizers... any suggestions?

4) How are you feeling? Nausea comes and goes...it's manageable. I have weird "catches," but I think I had them last time too, so who knows. Boobs still hurt and are heavy, but not as bad.

5) Any upcoming appointments, milestones, rants or raves? No, I still haven't scheduled my first appointment. I know, I know...I need to and I will probably call on Friday to see when they can fit me in. I am just not looking forward to all the poking and prodding and testing...everything that AMA entails...stressful.

QOTW: What body image/body change issues are you going through at this stage of your pregnancy? What are you doing about them? Bloat, bloat and did I mention bloat? I moved up a size in jeans to accommodate the bloat. I am hoping that this pregnancy is like my last one. I only gained 1 pound and never wore maternity clothes. I need this one to be like that one because I work in a power plant, where Fire Resistant clothing is required along with steel-toed boots. Lucky me... they don't make FR maternity clothes that I am aware of...of course, I haven't looked either. So, I really need this pregnancy to go the same way as the last one...
