I'm no MD or anything but I would assume since the panorama test (and other blood tests that can tell sex) looks for DNA and isolates the presence of the Y chromosome it would actually be MORE reliable than an ultra sound.

But again, I'm not a doctor.
I was kind of thinking the same. What makes you ask this, OP? Were you told two different things by the panorama and the a/s?

Ah yes, I forgot to ask that too! OP- were you told something different or are you just worried that something different might come up or perhaps just want to know if it's a possibility? I'm curious
The blood tests do still have a tiny chance of being wrong (like 0.0something%) but they are more reliable than ultrasounds!
Also, I was totally thinking this was about "panoroma sex" and wondering what position that is. And now I will never hear wrecking ball without thinking of a pregnant lady in a sex swing. Thanks ladies ;-)
I am coming back because I, too, am curious if you are asking just for curiosity/reassurance or because this is your real situation. If mu a/s tells me a different result for sex of the baby, I would be speaking up right then and there during the ultrasound to say hey I did panorama and it said male so how sure are you on what you are getting from the ultrasound. I do know, however, that Panorama does not claim 100% accuracy so presumably it is possible, if unlikely.
I guess maybe it would depend on which test said which sex. My Panorama said boy so there must have been Y chromosomes in my blood somehow. If it said girl I might be more easily convinced it somehow missed a Y or something?? I don't know obviously I'm not a dr or geneticist.

I know! Please come back, I'm curious as to the situation.

I did the panorama test early at 9 weeks and the accuracy is 98% which I know is very high. However, I have 3 boys (6,4 and 2) and was told this one is a girl. A huge surprise as I was totally expecting boy.
I had read in other posts that some people who had the Materni21 had been given wrong sex results and was wondering if anyone had had the same with panorama.
Anyway, I went for elective U/S this morning and was also told girl.

Glad you got confirmation. Was it too good to be true that you didn't want to trust it 100%?? :P haha

Ya if they've isolated a "Y" you can bet you're having a boy. I think it would be more common to not see the "Y" chrom, tell you you're having a girl, then it end up being a boy. I can't really see it going the other way - actually seeing a "Y" and it ends up girl....
Re: panorama sex wrong?
Aaaaaaand, now I am laughing at the thought of a pregnant lady with a big belly in a sex swing.

Ditto!
Come back!! @francined01
That chart is way more accurate and scientific than my "0.0something%" :-)
I'm really glad yours was accurate!
