Hello ladies! So after i've read several forums I thought the norm was to have 20+ eggs at retrieval. So when I had my second ultrasound today they could see 5 follicles of "notable" size (14mm) with other smaller ones. My nurse thought everything was going great, so when I asked her why did I not have 25+ eggs, she laughed and said unless I was a 22 year old, she hasn't heard of anyone having this much eggs. I'm only on my 7th day of stims with another 5 to go until ER this coming tuesday. I cant help but wonder if you are 35 years old or above, how many eggs did they retrieve? Thanks a bunch and good luck to you all!!
I'm 31 and had 19 eggs retreived. My AFC was only about 15 at my baseline so we did retrieve a few more than were shown on the baseline but only 14 retreived were actually mature.
This is a copy paste from my signature. I was 33-34 for my other cycles and 35 only for my IVF #5, but it yielded the most eggs. Finding the right protocol is key. 20+ is definitely not very realistic for someone our age, unless there is PCOS or something, but then you have quality issues. I think most RE's are happy with 4 or more. It sounds like you are right on track and I wish you the best!
I am 35 and had 6 retrieved. But I have a low AMH so that number was fine with me. Its really not the more you have, its the quality you want. Good luck to you!

I had seven, because my cycle was poorly managed. 20+ is a lot for anyone. I will say that all seven of mine were mature and fertilized, which does speak to quality v quantity.

I am 36 and had 15 eggs retrieved with 14 fertilized, but only 3 made it to day 5 (there was a very large drop off between day 3 and 5)
At my 2nd ultrasound I had 5 follicles between 10 and 12mm. They did up my dosage of Menopur after that but I was also a slow grower (if that makes sense)
I would agree it depends on your protocol and circumstances (my AMH is good for someone my age and we are unknown in terms of diagnosis). I definitely was nervous about not getting any / enough eggs but in the last few days really is when they started to grow.
From what I heard as well - you really don't want 20+ as you then are at risk for OHSS. At our WTF appointment my RE said she would not stimulate me any further than she did last round as she wants to prevent OHSS.

I'm jealous of some of the women here. I was 30 when we did our first two IVFs and have normal FSH, AMH, AFC.
IVF #1- 6R/5M/3F none made it to blast, so we were canceled (my clinic only does blastocyst transfers)
IVF #2- 8R/7M/5F 1 made it to early blast for transfer. No frosties. chemical pregnancy.
I am 31 now and ER for IVF #3 is tomorrow.
