The link I gave you is what all medical professionals go by though. Your doctor must have meant something else or you misunderstood them somehow because when you're anything +3 you can really feel the urge to push.

Not mention the unmistakable feeling of the baby coming down... This picture shows that station 4+ is outside the body. I'm guessing you are actually at 4-

Agree with PPs that you wouldn't be walking around at +4. -4 is much more likely. I did walk around at a 0 station 3cm dilated for a week though. That was very, very uncomfortable!
