I was just looking at our joint debit account when I saw a $130 charge for a place called Wide Open. I have the most trustworthy DH ever, but I immediately had look up the business b/c it sounded like an adult store or strip club. Turns out it is the new name of our cable company! So here's the GTKY question:

What is the worst thing you have ever suspected someone of doing, only to find out they were totally innocent?

    The best I can come up with is that my boss wanted to fire this one guy b/c she thought he was stealing. I don't think he was but I fired him anyway b/c he was a bad example as a shift leader b/c he was lazy. I still feel really bad about it but dude had to go. I liked him personally tho, nice guy, lazy but no thief.

    My mom told me that my dad threatened that he wouldn't put seat belts on us as kids unless she slept with him. I used to believe that but now that I've reconnected with my dad and seen my moms (and dads) true colors I think she was exaggerating.

    BTW Wide Open totally sounds weird to me too. What were they thinking?

    Once MH left his hotmail open on our joint computer. I thought it was my hotmail, and refreshed the screen. A new email came in from a girl named Sunshine. I clicked on it, assuming it was spam. Then the email was addressed to MH, asking if they were still on for their get together, and she couldn't wait. Once I figured out that I was in HIS email, not mine, I got really suspicious of this Sunshine and their date. I tried to keep my mouth shut and trust him, but that's totally a stripper name. I finally confronted him. They had been friends for 20 years, she was leaving her husband, whim she had caught cheating, and was meeting up with MH for lunch to catch up and get his old divorce attorney's contact info.
    I felt like such a huge B for inadvertently snooping, and for not trusting him. Oops.
    And wide open definitely sounds porny.

    Ha, I was just going to say, our cable company just changed to WOW, which I think is also stupid name, but then I looked it up and it turns out WOW and Wide Open are the same company.

    Anyway, that reminds me of when I was a kid and my dad found a 1-900 number on our phone bill, and was trying to figure out what it was for. Of course he thought one of us kids had done it, phoning into something dirty as a joke or a dare. Turns out he had called 1-900-WEATHER - back in the day the Weather Channel had a paid phone line, he called to get the ski report for our annual vacation.

    At the pizza place I worked at we would periodically come up short when closing. I worked there for a couple years and it was a small bunch of us and none of were thiefs. Finally when we were cleaning we found a handful of checks that were stuck in the cash register in the way back or bottom. One of the years was a year old! Crazy!

    Last year I jokingly got pissed at DH and questioned him about having a women over in our house because I found a tampon wrapper in the trash that wasn't mine. And I couldn't remember any female being over that it could have been.
    Later I realized my mom had been over and it was hers. Whoops!
