I think there are several here who have it. I'm one of them. It's fairly easily controlled with synthroid, though it can be tricky to get your levels right in the beginning. When you get pregnant you'll need to call your end asap and then be monitored every 6 weeks. It's super important early on because the baby needs a sufficient amount of thyroid hormone for brain development. I was diagnosed 3 months before starting TTC my DD and got pregnant the first month we tried. GL!

I have hypothyroidism. I take generic levothyroxine. My obgyn wants to recheck my TSH level right before we start trying, and then as previously stated you have to have your levels more closely monitored after your BFP due to increased demands on your thyroid.

Once regulated it shouldn't affect your fertility.

I have Hashi's and have been dx for about a year.  Meds have my blood levels fine, but I am still symptomatic.  We have been ttc for about 9 months.  I recommend finding a good Endo to help you.  Dont rely on your GP.  I have also been gluten free for 2 months because I have done a lot of research that supports a gluten free diet for Hashi's patients (although I know lots who havent changed their diet and seem fine).

By the time I was diagnosed with Hashimoto's it was fairly advanced. It pretty much destroyed my thyroid. When I had my thyroidectomy, my surgeon told me my thyroid was 'sticky' and that the cancer developed because the Hashimoto's had severely weakened it. I think it can be controlled with levothyroxine. You will just have to be monitored with some frequency. Good luck and I hope you get it under control quickly!

Wow, I'm so glad to hear from all of you!!!  As of now it is early stage and I am asymptomatic and don't need meds.  However, my acupuncturist told me to go gluten free.  I have suffered from chronic clinical depression and anxiety for years though, and I am wondering if maybe that is actually a symptom.  H also has hypothyroid and is dx as bipolar, so now this whole thing has me wondering.  I was reading that hypothyroid can be diagnosed as bipolar.  I don't really have an issue going  gluten free as much as it will suck during the holidays Sad  I do have a really good endocrinologist so I feel okay about that.  I am going to do gluten free and see if it changes how I am feeling or not, especially considering I feel pretty much fine right now.  Thanks ladies!
