What are your thoughts on the type of mattress to buy? I've read that foam is easier to change the sheets bc it is lighter... Anyone have any insight? I think this has already been a topic so sorry for the repeat post! :
I asked the same question a few weeks ago. Some were happy with their coil mattress and some happy with their foam mattress. There were a few posts from those that have foam saying it was still sturdy after two or so years of use. So, I went based on the replies and baby bargains and bought the Sealy soybean foam mattress. We got a great price and free shipping from amazon.

This is what we plan to get based on Baby Bargains recommendations. We haven't bought it yet though. We registered for it so I plan to get it after the shower assuming nobody gets it for us.
I originally got a coil mattress for DD because they're cheaper and I felt guilty registeri for anything pricey. She slept on it fine for a couple years until we switched to a toddler bed and I sat on her bed and realized how saggy the mattress was. I got an amazing hand me down foam mattress from a friend that is in great condition and sooo much more comfortable. I'll be buying a second foam mattress for this LO, the coil one is now on DD's bed at my mom's house, which she doesn't use very often.
We have a foam mattress that's still holding up well 19 months in. I don't know how it compares in weight to coil ones, but it is super light to pick up to change the sheets.
I followed Baby Bargains' recommendation and registered for a foam mattress.
baby bargains supports both equally. Foam can be cheaper. Best guidelines is to look for one that has waterproof lining to avoid any potential mold mildew or bacteria growth.
