it may be early to start thinking about this but I definitely want to try to make baby food when its time. Anyone have any good recommendations on homemade baby food books?
I got The Wholesome Baby Food Guide by Maggie Mead. I liked the way she breaks everything down so much for those who don't know what they are doing. She also has a full website of resources, ideas, and recipes. I think I'm going to be pretty happy with it, but FTM here, so it's a bit in the future for me too!
this and check into baby led weaning we started pur?es but quickly dd went straight to solid food by like 7 months (she started foods at 6 because we ebf)....not too early because it will come fast you u will be busy.
We made all ou baby foods and DS moved very quickly through pures and onto textured and diced foods. I used the book cooking for baby. He was pretty much eating what we were by 12 or 13 months.
I don't have a book recommendation but I do have a tool for solids (when the moment comes). I use this website https://goodmomming.com
to get inspired with foods for my precious. It's accurate and useful. You could
give it a try! Hope it helps you too!
You really don't need a book for purees - heat up food, mash, mix with other stuff. I did use the wholesomebabyfood website some other people posted, but mostly just did single-food purees because I'm a lazy cook.
Things like sweet potatoes and squash are super easy - bake until soft, then smoosh.
