Anyone know my chances of getting pregnant with only one tube and one ovary? I lost my whole left side yesterday due to ectopic pregnancy and there is scar tissue in my right so it has yet to be determined whether that scar tissue can be removed.
I think Car already answered your question, but I just wanted to add that I am sorry for your loss and for all that you have been through. Good luck to you.
So sorry for your loss. I too had an ectopic pregnancy and lost my right tube in June of 2011. I went on to get pregnant three more times after that, but sadly I lost each one. So it is still possible.

No one here can really give you a clear picture of your chances, especially with the scar tissue. But your right ovary will pick up the slack and you'll ovulate on that side every time, so you'll still have a chance every cycle.
I don't know if that helps. I'm sorry.
Ditto this. I would recommend consulting with a Reproductive Endocrinologist regarding these issues when you are emotionally ready.
Good luck to you.

On Thursday, I had my right tube removed (2nd ectopic in that tube and it had ruptured), but my ovary is still in tact. My left tube is questionable as I've also had an ectopic in that tube and surgery on it as well. I was slated to have both tubes removed because of my ectopic history but I could not emotionally part with/accept losing both at once.
As for getting pregnant? Only time will tell. My RE recommended (last summer) and still says IVF will be our best shot at carrying a pregnancy to term and if that's what we decide on, he highly recommends having my left tube removed before IVF.
Did your doctor tell you why he also removed the ovary?
