EPO question- I know, sorry!

I know this has been discussed before, but that darn search feature doesn't work!  For those taking Evening Primrose Oil, what method are you using and what dosage?  My OB says I can try it if I want to but didn't give me specifics, and I am finding conflicting dosage information.  Any help would be greatly appreciated!

    I took 4 1000mg a day starting at 4
36w. I started out taking all 4 orally and at 37w took one at night vaginally.

I was told one vaginally and one orally from 37 weeks, and up to 2 orally at 38. I am personally not going beyond that. They are 1000mg tablets. This was from my doula though, not my OB - she didn't have dosage recommendations.

I'm doing one orally in the morning and one vaginally in the evening ( both 1000mg) I got the go ahead from my midwives at 35 1/2 weeks as EPO doesn't put you into labour just can help with your cervix. But that's just what my mid wives say, everyone is different.

Great, thanks so much everyone! I am know it won't induce labor, just hoping it will help soften my cervix.  I will be 37 weeks tomorrow so I will start trying then.

For those who use it vaginally, I know to use it at night (and will wear a pad)... has anyone had any issues leaking the next day? Thanks!

I don't leak a ton out a night, I sleep on a towel just in case, but I have to wear a panty liner the next morning for a couple hours, I usually have a shower though because it can be kind of sticky :S.

I had started with a pad and found it overkill. I use liners now. I usually "evacuated" most of it with middle-of-the-night bathroom trips by the morning, it hasn't really leaked during the night, and what does come out is really negligible :) not as messy as I was expecting!
