My midwife let me schedule my A/S for 19 weeks because I'm heading to CA for Christmas for 10 days. And I turn 20 weeks on Christmas Eve.
The office assistant who scheduled it said the ultrasound tech didn't like early a/s.
Eventually, it was scheduled at 19 weeks and I do trust my midwife that it's fine, but I'm having doubts. I'm curious how common early a/s are, and how they have been going for people.
Re: When did you/will you have your a/s?
Mine still isn't scheduled and it frustrates me. I will be 20 weeks on Monday. I go to the doctor on Thursday, and I am really hoping to schedule it then. I will be at least 22 weeks before it happens. I have some concerns, and the u/s would really put my mind at ease.
19 weeks doesn't seem that early. DS1 had his a/s at 19 weeks and they were able to see everything they needed to .
I have mine today at 2. I am 18w1d. My doc said anywhere after 18 weeks is fine. I'm a nervous wreck!
Mine will be on Dec 31. I will be 18 weeks 5 days.
Mine is on Wednesday and I'll be 17 weeks.
The 18-20 week window didn't work for us because I'll be 18 weeks the day after Christmas and the u/s tech is off, then because of H's leave we won't be going home for Christmas until after that. So it was either 17 weeks or after 21 weeks and the Dr's office chose to do early rather than late.
I was 18w5d this time around
With DS I think I was 17 weeks!
I think it depends on their equipment too. I had a level 2 u/s major hospital
The scheduler didn't want to put me on the schedule until after Christmas, so I had to go over and get the doctor to come tell the girl to do it.
I was 19 weeks exactly. That doesn't seem early to me. 17 weeks seems early, and even 18 maybe, but mine have always been right around 19-21.
I had the same tech for my 13 week NT scan as for my AS and she had mentioned that they have to wait until you are far enough along that the baby is big enough for them to be able to see the heart chambers etc. that are too hard to see if you go in to early. Presumably she figured 19 weeks was fine, so I'm not sure what your office's objection was.

My OB said anywhere between 18 and 22 weeks would be fine.
With my first I was 18 weeks, and DS measured 19 weeks and there were no issues seeing what they needed to.
I'll be 19w4d with my a/s for this one on 12/28.
