I currently refer to it as "the fetus" which people seem to find amusing. I would probably call it "the baby" if I was talking to someone I didn't know well though.
Usually we call it "Baby" and I refer to it as a her (even though we don't know yet). When I am alone and talking to it I refer to it as mommy's little miracle.
Too funny - DH refers to it as "Cletus the Fetus" but most of the time it's just "baby".
That is hilarious. Also, a PP mentioned calling the baby a "he" even though they don't know the sex of the baby yet. I've caught myself doing that, too, but I don't know if it's instincts, or the fact that every other living being in my house is a "he" (Husband, dog, cat), so that's just the pronoun I'm used to.
Frankenstein- or Frankie: When it was making me sick I was saying it was a monster inside of me. Then it became a monster----that we created = Frankenstein
We don't know the sex yet but I've been referring to baby as "he" and I call him Jack--since I can't use Jack as a name I'm getting my use out of it while I can HAHA
We call it "Olive." We did IVF and on the day of the embryo transfer, the embryos were shown on the screen. They looked just like a cocktail olive to me.
Sometimes I call it "the Alien" when in jest.

We still pick a new name each week according to the fruit, alternating girl/boy based on our fruit of the week. Just said bye to Princess Peach and welcome to Larry Lemon.
We started calling it Zeno after a name in DH's family tree that we knew we would never ever use. Then my MIL told us she wasn't a fan of the name Emmett (wasn't even one we were considering, haha) and then she attached that to the front of Zeno, making it Emmett Zeno, aka EZ.
SO, long story short we are calling it little EZ
P.s. wedon't even know boy or girl yet, but it will probably stay EZ until born
I call the baby, baby squidly because in the first U/S pic that is all I could see was a squid. A friend said the name squidly and it stuck.

It's a girl!
We call our baby Poppy because when we found out the baby was the size of a poppy seed. We change up the he/she depending on our mood...we would be happy with either since this is our first child. Not sure whether we will continue to call the baby poppy after we find out the sex or the names we have already decided on.

We were having trouble coming up with a nick name and the Dr called the baby Charlie when doing the ultra sound so we stuck with it. I love Charlotte for a girl ( calling her Charlie) but we probably wont ever use it and we wont be naming the baby Charles if it's a boy once it's born so it's kind of a wired nickname if you ask me but it works for DH and me for now.
We call the baby "bean" or just "the baby". I'm sure I've said other things at other times, too, though. I also refer to the baby as a "he" sometimes after having a strong feeling I'm pregnant with a boy a few days ago, lol.
Re: Also... what do you currently call your baby?

This. I call it baby or gummybear- this is what it looked like in first u/s.
This is too cute.
I called it the baby or sometimes "it" and my husband gets mad. Husband calls it baby boy since he is so sure it's a boy. Mom calls it pumpkin.
Fred!
My dad just joked that name since we learned it's probably a boy. It stuck...it's funny. Even if the sex changes we'll still probably call it Fred.
We call it "Olive." We did IVF and on the day of the embryo transfer, the embryos were shown on the screen. They looked just like a cocktail olive to me.

It's a girl!
bahhaah I used to call my friend's baby cletus when it was still in the womb, and when we found out it was a girl - cletessa.
I usually call it by it's fruit of the week. I really enjoyed avacado this week. it used to be joe the embryo
We call it Newbie (because it's the new baby) as opposed to "the baby" which is still our current son.
We called our son Khan, because he was our second pregnancy (our first was a miscarriage). So he was Baby 2, Wrath of Khan.
Spike :-)
... We find out May 8 if Spike is really a Spikette or not! Although, I may continue to call a girl Spike for a while.
