DS#2 is 4 weeks old and we recently started using our cloth diaper stash. We are on day 3 exclusively of CD's and he has a yeast rash. He is a super heavy wetter and even though I change him every 2 hours (even at night) he is still soaking wet.
We have used everything from the Flip inserts, Charlie Banana inserts and prefolds and he still is so so wet.
Is there a way to clear up the rash in addition to the usual creams for yeast? Should I switch him back to sposies until it clears up?
What else would you recommend?
FWIW, we use the original Tide powder to wash the dipes. And I have been using California Baby diaper cream since that works with the CDs.
TIA!
Re: Yeast rash
We have a yeast rash that started after DD got ringworm from me. We took her to the doc and got an antifungal/hydrocortisone cream, which isn't CD safe.
She has been switched into disposable diapers since CD's exposed to yeast need to be disinfected.
Tomorrow I am doing the wash with oxyclean following this recommendation: https://www.newandgreen.com/info_washingdiapersafteryeast.html
Have you considered switching to a different type of insert, like bamboo or minky? Do you use doublers? Maybe you can try changing him more often (which I know 2 hours is a lot as is)
Switch to sposies while you clear up the yeast.
I'd, personally, wash all the diapers in bleach.

As for keeping the baby dry, try using fleece liners to keep him dryer and change more often than every 2 hours.
