Backache

At what point do you worry about your aches and pains being preterm labor and at what point are they just part of the territory of 3rd tri?

I am just achy all over my back and sides with occasional  pains in my stomach and I am super tired.  I am planning on going to bed soon which I am sure will help, but I am just curious what you have been told.  I see my doctor on Monday and am planning on asking for more specifics then, but in the mean time I feel a little paranoid.

Hallelujah, it's a miracle, I have children AND a signature!

I haven'd had back pain that has made me think I'm going into labour...I probably wouldn't worry about it unless it was accompanied by other labour symptoms.

Having said that, I'm the type of person who doesn't worry about much, and I'll probably be the one who passes back pain off as just regular pregnancy discomfort when it's really a sign of labour!

I totally feel the same way. I got all scared and was checked out at my appointment but everything was fine. I think if it isn't stopping you from doing activities it's probably just growing pains.

I've chalked up a sore back and general aches and pains as just a normal part of pregnancy.  The instructor at our childbirth class even said that it's difficult to tell when a backache means labor because it's so normal for your back to hurt all the time anyway,  so the change is subtle.  I would like to hope that when I'm in labor there are other signs besides a backache - or I'll never know :)

This is exactly what I am afraid of, that I won't know.  I guess we'll just wait and see.

I haven't really been worried about it. When my back starts to hurt it's usually because of activity I've been doing or it's the end of the work day or whatever. If my back just started to hurt in a place it usually doesn't and for no reason then maybe I'll be more concerned about it.
