Contact Lenses

I have been wearing my glasses for weeks since I was sooo tired.  Now that my energy is back, I ordered some new contacts.  I put them in on Saturday and I couldn't see!!  They made me cross-eyed and my vision was worse!!  What is going on???  I spoke to someone at my eye doctor and she said she was unable to wear her contacts during her pregnancy.  Anyone else having issues??

TIA!

Are your contacts the same prescription as your glasses?  My eyes have changed a lot in pregnancy.  Everything is pretty much blurry for me with either, but they are the same prescription.  I was told not to change it because my eyes should go back to normal after pregnancy.  Good luck!

This.  My vision fluctuated a bit with each pregnancy, then settled down post-baby.  Also, if you haven't worn your contacts for a while your eyes just might not be used to them.  You may want to try them a few more times...maybe over the weekend where you can take them out easily...to see if it gets better.  The only other thing I would say is that if I have mine in the wrong eyes (right contact in left eye) I also have trouble  LOL!

I've had issues with mine. Mostly they just feel dirty though. I want to get Lasik one day! I have made appointments and then kept putting it off, but one day, I'll do it! :)

The only issue that I've had with mine is that they seem to dry out faster.  I've worn them for 12 hour stretches before and now, I can't do that.  (Maybe I'm on TB too much).

From what I've read your eyes change shape a little when you're pregnant and then go back afterwards. My contacts started making my vision blurry at around 18 weeks, so I've just resigned myself to wearing my glasses until the baby comes.

My eyes changed prescription when I went in for my annual appointment this year.  With pregnancy, your prescription can change up until you're done breast feeding.  It may go back, or it may not.  (Some people's eyes actually get better and stay that way!) Because of this, my eye doctor will only let me order one box of contacts at a time, and I go in for a quick recheck before I need to reorder another box.

I just had my eye doc (ophthalmologist) appt last week and he told me that while we are pregnant everything swells in our body including the lenses of our eyes, so our eyes may change drastically while pregnant but that they will go back to normal post-partum. So I think we're all experiencing this right now. But don't worry. Geeked

I wear my contacts all the time and I have noticed some slight changes in my vision. I'd like to make an eye appointment soon for an extra pair of glasses. I think I'll be wearing those much more as the pregnancy goes further along.
