We have it but have only used it when traveling. We have a real sound machine that we use nightly for DS and he loves it. The sleep sheep was great to have, though, when away from home. I think they have a small one that's less expensive too.
I have the gentle giraffe sleep sounds machine and it is worth it for sure! Flora has been getting fussy and waking herself up the second she is away from my body, but with the womb sounds turned on she stays content for much much longer.

I had the Summer brand white noise bear (Target) for DS1 and liked it. I have the Sleep Sheep for DS2 and it's fine. I don't think I'd pay the extra $10 for it v. the Summer bear but it was a nice gift and I like it. I do like that it plays longer and has an option for times.

In my opinion I think that babies over a couple weeks old are accustomed enough to the outside world to the point where they don't need to hear the womb and heartbeat noises. I thought about getting the sleep sheep back when I was pregnant but our ella loves the nursery song on her mobile. I actually found a stuffed giraffe that you can crank up and plays the same song as her mobile so when we are on the go we can just use that!
It only goes max for 45 mins so both of my kids woke up when the noise stopped. We recently got a sound machine for DD that can run all night and I like that much better

We LOVE the sleep sheep, but we are thinking of buying something that can go all night.
I have the sleep sheep. I love it but it has drawbacks and there are probably some better/cheaper things out there. My LO falls asleep to the ocean or rain sounds and she immediately calms when I turn it on but as PP said it only goes for 45 minutes and then automatically shuts off...if she is not sound asleep she wakes up and we start over. I have the large one which is slightly cumbersome (I move it upstairs and downstairs daily). I would go for the travel one if you do get the sleep sheep. It does the same thing but is smaller and cheaper

We got one as a gift and DD loves the whales - instantly settles down when we turn it on. She doesn't wake up when it turns off. But I wouldn't spend the money on it. We already had a Conair sound machine/alarm clock/radio with more sound options on it that can run all night and it was probably half the price.

This. Our DD loves it and wakes up when it goes off. So, we're considering just getting a sound machine that will go all night. We keep it on the rain sounds - the others are pretty annoying.
We love ours! I thought it might be a problem that it only goes 45 minutes, but that's really perfect- long enough for him to be deeply asleep and not wake up when it turns off. We only use the rain and waves noise- we used the heartbeat a few times and its not bad, but the whales sound was just weird.
I have so many pictures of LO sleeping in various places, always with the sleepy sheep lurking in the background, that we call him the Creepy Sheep.
We have the travel sleep sheep so its attached to his rock n play with velcro. He likes it, but not until he was 2 months old. He could have cared less about it before then. However it doesn't really help him FALL asleep but we run it when he is already falling asleep and afterward to keep him asleep. He likes the rain noise the best. Honestly I would just buy a sound machine because it can stay on for longer if you are looking for a good white noise.
Sorry we got the Homedics SoundSpa Lullaby at Target for about $20. I was concerned because on the package it didn't say that it would go continuously, but it does.
i'm not sure if addy gets anything out of the Sleep Sheep, but it does great putting me back to sleep after a late night/early morning feeding. we got it as a baby shower gift so i didn't pay for it but i am glad we have it
We have the sleep sheep but it's not that wonderful! We actually decided to use a humidifier in our room as it is dry it runs all night next to her pack and play and it seems to work wonders for white noise and keeping our babe from getting stuffy!!

I wouldn't go out and waste the money when you can get the white noise for free...try a few out and see what works for your LO. HTH
