  • Okay I am having a really hard time getting this post right. This is like my 5th try

    6. I guess I just do. I try to focus on work at work and home at home as much as I can.

  • 1) Give us one line describing yourself: I'm a hardworker, dedicated to my job and family, and I've been reformed.

    4) What do you do for work? Do you love it, hate it, tolerate it? I'm an analyst and I love my job. I might be switching over to public relations in the next year.

    10) Tell us something funny about yourself: I'm a major clutz and on any given day, I'll have at least 2 cuts and 1 bruise, if not more. I actually met my H because I had a concussion and I was in the hospital from hitting my head.

    11) Describe your house: We just bought a new house and it's GORGEOUS. It's huge, with lots of yard space for the children, and a gorgeous kitchen for me.

    3) # of children, ages, do you want more? 2 kids, 18 months and 4.5 years.  Just miscarried our third baby last week.  We want one more. 

    4) What do you do for work? Do you love it, hate it, tolerate it? I'm an engineer in a failure lab for a telecom.  I tolerate it. 

    5) What does your DH/Partner do? He's in the military.

    6) How do you maintain a good work/life balace? Work stays at work.  I don't let work interfere in my real life at all.  It's all about boundaries for me.

    9) What is your favorite food? I like almost all food, I don't discriminate.

    11) Describe your house:  5 bed, 5 bath cookie cutter home in a nice neighborhood.  Was a foreclosure that we bought and ripped out most of the existing stuff and replaced it.

    6) How do you maintain a good work/life balace? I changed my schedule to get to work by 7 so I can leave at 4.  This gives me more time with DS.  We also make sure we have date nights to keep the magic in our relationship

  • 1) Give us one line describing yourself: Infinitely capable Mom/Doc who makes great appetizers and who is extremely polite unless you pist her off.

    3) # of children, ages, do you want more?  Twin boys, 3 1/2. We are done.

    4) What do you do for work? Do you love it, hate it, tolerate it?  MD, love it, hate it, tolerate....depends on the day. Mostly love it.

    5) What does your DH/Partner do?  Attorney

    6) How do you maintain a good work/life balace?  Maintaining a happy outlook, letting the dishes sit in the sink, living in the moment.

    7) Favorite store for kid's stuff: Land's End for clothes, Amazon for pretty much everything else.

    8) Favorite household item of 2010: Keurig Coffee Maker - I am drinking it right now and am in heaven.

    9) What is your favorite food? Thai noodles. I don't care what kind. The perfect yellowtail scallion roll would be close.  Dennison's chili on white rice... Carrot cake with extra frosting....garlic bagels with cream cheese and extra garlic on top.  Spinach salads with berries. Stoli on the rocks with two olives. Miso grilled fish.

    10) Tell us something funny about yourself:  Since an a$$hole ex-boyfriend tried to argue with me for what seemed like days about putting the toilet paper on the roll the "right" way, I have a mental thing and never put TP on the roll at all. I just leave it sitting on top.

    This makes my husband laugh.

    11) Describe your house: Kind of LA Mexican/Modern/Cowboy, kid friendly, casual, rowdy and kind of messy.

    12) Favorite book of 2010: I read all the Stieg Larrsen books in 4 days. Not literary genious but a damn good read.

    4) What do you do for work? Do you love it, hate it, tolerate it? I'm a food scientist with a fancy title (Director of applications).  I like my line of work but I do not love my current role.

    5) What does your DH/Partner do?  Regulatory manager for a flavor co.

     6) How do you maintain a good work/life balace? I don't.

    7) Favorite store for kid's stuff : Target?  I like those MOM's sales b/c everything is used and cheap!

    8) Favorite household item of 2010: My GPS wiht the suction cup so it can attach to my windshield.  We lost htat part for about18 months and it is so nice to have it back!  oops, that might not be household.

    11) Describe your house: BIG (to us) and clean!( the cleaning lady came yesterday and DH & DD are under severe threat of dismemberment if they mess it up in the next few days)

    3) # of children, ages, do you want more? 4 children ages 5, 3 1/2, 2 and 10 months.  Would love more but need room and of course $$!

    4) What do you do for work? Do you love it, hate it, tolerate it?  I work for an investment management company.  I don't love it, but then again I'd rather be a SAHM... but if I had to pick a job, this is a really nice one to have.

    5) What does your DH/Partner do?  two jobs, he works at UPS and he is a help desk technician for a relocation company

    6) How do you maintain a good work/life balance? Work 8 hours, kids 8 hours, and sleep 8 hours... that's a full day right?! Then weekends to just have family time

    7) Favorite store for kid's stuff: Once upon a child

    8) Favorite household item of 2010: my crock pot!

    9) What is your favorite food? Pasta (Fettuccine Alfredo to be specific)

  • OK, here goes:

    1)  I'm a homebody, have a corny sense of humor, and am still scared about being a parent even though my son is 6 months old already!

    2) I'm 32.

    3) My son is 6 months old, we'd like one more in a few years.

    4) I'm a staff accountant at a public accounting firm.  I tolerate it, but am dreading tax season.

    5) My DH works at a factory that makes hydraulic hoses.

    6) My firm is good about letting me work from home if needed.  Other than that, I take lots of naps with my son on the weekends (he still doesn't STTN).

    7)  My neighbor's house?  They're done, and are giving us all of their son's old clothing.  We haven't purchased him any clothes yet!  Gear and stuff we've purchased online.

    8) Not sure, but am loving my slow cooker these days?

    9) Cheese, but that may be because my son isn't tolerating dairy well, so I've had to cut it out.  It turns out I really do want what I can't have.

    10) When I was 5, I had to go the emergency room because a bee flew up my nose.  My grandma had us literally "stop to smell the roses."  I don't do that anymore.

    4) What do you do for work? Do you love it, hate it, tolerate it? I am a social worker. I work with disabled adults and I love it (most of the time).

    5) What does your DH/Partner do? H is a product manager for a large insurance company. He works from home.

    6) How do you maintain a good work/life balace? H and I do a lot of collaboration. I get in to work as early as possible so I can pick DD up early. His schedule is flexible so he lets her wake up when she wants and then takes her to DC. We make sure to have 'date night' just H and I at least once or twice a month to keep our marriage with it.

  • 1) Give us one line describing yourself: Loving mother and coach's wife who went from career-minded to working because I have to!

    2) Age: 31

    3) # of children, ages, do you want more? 1, 3 mo, at least 1 more when I can afford to stay home a little longer

    4) What do you do for work? Do you love it, hate it, tolerate it? Sr Analyst for a major formula manufacturer.  I tolerate it. Love the company, but the job is so/so.

    5) What does your DH/Partner do? IT person for a home healthcare agency, high school wrestling coach

    6) How do you maintain a good work/life balace? I have learned to leave work at work so I can enjoy my home time. I am working on cutting back hours to have more home time, though its not quite financially feasable yet. We are following Dave Ramsey's total money makeover....the sooner we are out of debt, the better off I will be!

    7) Favorite store for kid's stuff: I shop the most on Amazon.com, if that counts.

    8) Favorite household item of 2010: Crockpots. I have several, and try to set them all going on Sunday so that all the meat for the week is ready to go.Then, each night, I just have to throw together sides and heat it all up. Seems to be working so far!

    10) Tell us something funny about yourself: When I was young, I used to sleepwalk. One time, I went down the stairs, to the kitchen and opened the fridge. I pulled out the bottom drawer. My dad came in to see why I was up and realized I was alseep in the nick of time - I was about to pee in the refrigerator!

    11) Describe your house: 4BR/2BA ranch in a small country suburb of a large city. 1/3 acre, fenced yard, hardwood floors, 1600 sq. ft. basement.  Its our first house, and my husband hopes its our last!

    12) Favorite book of 2010: Probably Down Came the Rain by Brook Shields. It came to me at a time when I needed it.

    4. School psychologist for suburban school district. I love what I do - it's a lot less stressful than the job I had with another school district - has me doing all the things I love about my profession,but with a lot less hassle.

    5. Teacher by trade, but lost his job 2.5 years ago and has been struggling to find something permanent since.

    6. I'm still trying to find the right balance. I have gotten a lot better at spending time with DS when we're home, but I still haven't figured out how to make time for me (mainly to exercise) without the mommy guilt.

    8. Our new bathtub! We renovated our bathroom this summer. Turns out the floor was so rotted underneath the old one, there was barely anything keeping it from falling into the basement! The new one is so shiny and looks so clean.

    4) What do you do for work? Do you love it, hate it, tolerate it? I'm an analyst at a health insurance company. I like what I do, each day is different.

    5) What does your DH/Partner do? Project manager at a company that build engines & generators. Plus he has a side business with FIL, & hobby farm w/ beef, chickens, and horses.

    6) How do you maintain a good work/life balance? I'm in the office 40 hours a week, if I need to work additional hours I can work remotely. I have a somewhat flexible schedule.

    7) Favorite store for kid's stuff: Target (?), I'm fortunate that I haven't had to buy a lot of clothes for DD, our extended family buys a lot of stuff for her.

    8) Favorite household item of 2010: I don't think I've gotten a house hold thing this year that I can pick out as my favorite, however, I really like my dyson vacuum, and my crockpot.

    9) What is your favorite food? Ice cream, mexican, wine. I pretty much love food. I eat all the time. Some day my metabolism will catch up with me & I'll be screwed.

    10) Tell us something funny about yourself: I don't know... this morning I put my car in the ditch on the way to work after a few weeks ago saying I'm perfectly capable of driving in the snow.

    11) Describe your house: old farmhouse with barn and indoor riding arena. Interior decorated with horse & western stuff. Most of the time it's cluttered & messy. I'd rather spend time w/ DD than spend hours cleaning. Right now there's a lot of snow.

It took me a long time to adjust to 1 and things are soooooo good right now. 4. Corporate trainer. I love it. Would be ok with a few less hours a week though.     4) What do you do for work? Do you love it, hate it, tolerate it? Federal Contractor, usually love it, sometimes hate it, but can't imagine doing anything else...no desire to be a SAHM, I just wish there were more hours in the day.
