Borderline Polyhydramnios- Too much amniotic fluid
Yesterday my Dr. told me that I'm Borderline Polyhydramnios. He said it doesn't pose a threat as of now, but if it continues to increase it may become a risk for the baby. Is anyone else going through this? If so, how is your DR. treating the condition. I have googled this condition and have found the risk factors but not any treatment senarios. TIA.

I have not (yet) been diagnosed with polyhydraminos with this pregnancy but I was with DD's pregnancy. There really wasn't a "treatment".
10 days before DD was born, around 35 weeks, I was visited by a nurse every day who did a NST at home and checked my blood pressure, and I was supposed to limit my activities and stay at home. On the 10th day of this, I was told to go to the hospital b/c DD wasn't moving as well as they'd like. She ended up moving fine that night at the hospital, but they told me they'd like me to be admitted until I gave birth, so I was admitted at 36w4d.
They said I was a walking time bomb and if my water broke at home, the cord could prolapse and DD could not get oxygen.
My blood pressure ended up being high (they had been measuring with a wrong cuff until this point), and they decided to induce me. I gave birth via c/s (failed induction) at 36w5d.
I had to go to a specialist to get an ultrasound because my doc said i had way too much fluid... i got an ultrasound and i guess the max they want you to have is 25.. my number is 27. The doctor said that it is fine and that my doctor can just monitor it but no need for testing... What is your number for the fluid??
By the end of my pg with DD, mine was 43+.
The only way to "treat" polyhydramnios is to drain some of the fluid (same way they do an amnio), but because of the risks involved in that, they will only consider it if you have a really, really high level of fluid and the baby is too young to be delivered without spending a significant amount of time in the NICU. Borderline polyhydramnios can correct itself, so I wouldn't worry too much about it at this point. I can't remember what my fluid measurements were, but at 24wks my uterus was measuring 29wks and the only thing they did differently (after the 2nd u/s to confirm polyhydramnios and double-check for birth defects) was to start my bi-weekly appointments sooner. My belly measurements stayed consistantly off by 5wks or less, so they didn't do anything else. I had been debating between a v-bac and a repeat c/s, and my doctor did encourage the c/s because of the risk of the cord prolapsing.
