Very confused about labor and MP

I am very confused on if i can go into labor if  I haven't lost my Mucus Plug, is it possible or common. Im 37 weeks and still haven't lost it yet, that I know of. And what if I havent lost it by 39 weeks does there mean there is a problem any suggestions.

    With my first, I didn't lose my mucus plug until I was well into labor...Olivia was a few days overdue.   Don't worry too much about it:)

    I lost mine early over a couple weeks with DD1 and don't remember losing it "again" before going into labor.

    I don't remember losing anything with DD2 before going into labor. 

    So no, I don't think you need to lose it to be able to go into labor.

    I did not lose my MP until I was well into labor...not losing your MP does not mean anything, you are perfectly normal Smile

    It has no bearing on when or if you will go into labor, I really wouldn't worry.

    I never lost my mucus plug.  I had DD at 38 weeks.

    It's also very common for you to not even know you've lost it, apparently. I'm 39 weeks and I have not noticed anything. Not worried!
