Hello all!!! I hope everyone is doing well this morning!
This is our first Weekly photography enthusiast post! YAY!!!
Hopefully we can use this as a place to meet other bumpies with photography interests, use eachother as resources, AW a few pictures and learn as we go. To make sure people want to continue to participate I would like to have these threads be "constructive criticism" only.

I'm from Oregon, and I'm just starting to get into photography. I'm getting a canon rebel for Christmas, so I will have a lot of questions!!!
I have no challenge suggestions yet, but I'll try to think of some.
Random: I suggested the bump should add a photography board, but they need a certain amount of requests before they add a new board. Requests can be e-mailed to community@thebump.com . I know thebump if full of new boards lately, but I have so many photography questions I'd love a board here with advice from more than just 6-12 photography enthusiast.

1. I'm katieln and live and work in the Minneapolis area.
I'm shooting with a Canon EOS 40D....way more camera then I know what to do with, but since I'm the only one in my husband's family that takes pics, they thought I should have a nice one.

Cape Cod vacation
That is a freaking fabulous pic! I am so jealous!
I'm from Ontario Canada and I have three different cameras. A crap-tastic movie pix one that we use mainly as a videocamera.
A FujiFilm FinePix S700 Digital which is okay and which we use a lot because its convenient to be able to delete photos that don't come out well.
We also have a Canon Rebel EOS which is a very good camera, but it's not digital so we don't use it that often.
I ditto Mamarazzi as a group name.
Ideas for future challenges: out and about baby, favourite pic of our SO, favourite pic of SO and baby, nature scene, architecture, family portrait (using a tri-pod or something to set up the pic), baby action shot, self-portrait (again with the tri-pod), my favourite things. . .

MrsSerrato: I LOVE the corn bath photo! Weren't you nervous he'd try to eat the kernels though? They had a corn bath at the farm we went to, but I was too nervous to put DS in it.
hrhmary: I took a photography class for work, but I really think that plain old practice has helped me more than the class did.

I live in Chicago. I use a Lumix DMC-FZ28K. I'm still learning how to use it.
My fav picture I took thus far is not of Ds but my neice.

I don't know if it is my absolute favorite but I really like this picture. She was 1 week old and it was with just the kit lens. Quality isn't as good as I would like but I think it has good potential!
