So things have been a little backed up lately, so I'm going to try to increase my fiber intake to hopefully help it along. Just wondering if anyone has some good fiber rich meal ideas. I know the basics about eating whole grains, veggies, etc, but I want a meal idea that sounds appealing.
Do you like beans? You could eat black bean soup with some FF sour cream and chives? That is one of my favorites! Or a refried bean burrito in a flour tortilla with some light cheese? I love the new Fiber One cereal flakes-honey flavor. A snack idea is an apple w/light peanut butter... Stay away from bananas, red meat, alot of dairy, etc.
Also would drink as much water as possible, and eat water rich foods like watermelon, pineapple, peaches, plums, oranges, etc.
Chemical Pregnancy 5.2011. BFP 9.2011 MC @ 8.5w D&C 11.4.2011 sweet pea is always in our hearts.
BFP 3.23.2012! Our baby turkey is due 11.22.2012!
my big thing lately and I don't know exactly how fiber rich it is for sure, is a salad of romaine lettuce with cut up carrots, cucumbers and red onion in it.then just a bit of your favorite dressing.
Prunes, Fiber One products, Metamucil drinks. I started taking a stool softener once a day and have gone from 1 BM every 3 - 4 days to a BM every other day.

vegetarian chili is a great fiber-rich meal. Beans are full of fiber and so are meat substitutes. There is a "ground meat" available at Trader Joe's by Yves Gourmet. Most chain grocery stores carrie morning star farms.
if upping your fiber in food doesnt work, try using a fiber supplement like Metamucil. Whatever brand you choose, make sure it has soluable fiber in it. One or two glasses a day works for me like clockwork!
