i actually ended up with an actual changing table because my dresser has this huge hutch on top. . .but definitely get SOMETHING that will allow you to change the baby on your feet and without having to stoop or bend too much. i was MISERABLE trying to change my son on our low bed or on the floor - it was just too painful to move like that all the time with my stitches and the swelling.
trust me, you don't want to have a baby at home already and be trying to solve that problem. it's better to have something set up already.
FWIW, the dresser/changing pad is a good idea for a lot of people. my boy's only 7 months old and i really don't use his table very much at all any more.
Re: xp-do you use your changing table?
