Tupperware containers

edited November 2014 in Parenting
So, I am ALWAYS losing tupperware containers. Either the lids go missing or it cracks, or something.

I always debate between glass and plastic. Glass is expensive and we don't have a good track record of not losing the containers, but then I can heat up things more comfortable. Plastic is cheap and not as heavy in my lunch box, plus I don't get super anxious if I lose it.

So which one? Any brand recommendations?

I have plastic but I want glass.
Our plastic ones are the ziplock ones so I don't feel bad if someone walks off with it or etc.

You could try a mix- do glass for at home and plastic for work?

I prefer glass pirex or anchor so I can heat up my food in glass and not plastic, but I'm paranoid about microwaving plastic. It is a PITA to keep track of all the lids though.

Some of mine have warped in the washer and don't fit anymore, or melted when left on the hot stove top.... cough cough SO. So I always have more bowls than lids.

I got a huge pack of pyrex and lids on black friday two years ago tho. $20 for a 40 piece set.

I use both, but am slowly trying to move to all glass. I just don't want to pay a lot at one time. I have the Pyrex -- I think Walmart is actually having a sell on a 20 piece set for black friday? $20

The price went up on amazon. Kicking myself for not getting them earlier. I'll check Target tomorrow. I know I want the bake and store set.
That's the set I have. I really like it

I have these snap lock lid ones. When you leave the snap things open, they vent the food. I love them, no spills. I'm also afraid of heating plastic. Luckily, I'm usually cool with cold leftovers, so it's really not an issue for me. I have a pack of the sturdy, almost cardboard paper plates at work for when I really want it heated.

I'd be too afraid of the glass ones with small kids in the house, and wouldn't want the extra weight.

I'd switch to glass but the toddlers wouldn't forgive me for taking away the Tupperware drawer. We don't have big enough kitchen to keep both.
