*M14 Christmas Gift Exchange - Updated *CLOSED*

Are we as a BMB totally damaged so that we can't do these? 

I'm so jealous of all of the other BMBs who exchange gifts/books/etc.

Regulars - if you would like to participate, please pm me your first and last name and email. We are using Elfster.

Update: Regulars, you have until Thursday at noon to pm me your first and last name and email. You will receive an invitation from Elfster. Once you accept the invitation, create a wishlist for your Secret Santa. The spending limit is $20 and does NOT include shipping. We will draw names on Thursday evening. 

13 people have accepted invitations and names have been draw. Please look on Elfster under "Your Draw" to see the person you will be buying for - let's try and stay within the $20 budget. Please make sure you ship gifts so they are received by December 22.

@becole42 - I wonder how other boards do it? I'm sure they would have to do something similar as to what you are suggesting.

I think they do private groups as well. I just hope another privatE group doesn't turn into being just like the non existent Facebook group. That totally killed the vibe of our board. We could just use the private group for something only like this though.

I saw this as well on other boards and thought it was a really sweet idea but I agree it would have to be some kind of a private board so people feel ok about giving that kind of info out.

One of my friends is on the March '14 Board and she said that they used Elfster.

Elfster is a pretty good way to do this, I have done that on the boards a couple times!

I was going to suggest Elfster too- we used it as a gift exchange on The Knot! It worked perfectly!

My 212 BMB uses elfster as well. Works well. That said, we're pretty much all FB friends. Elfster isn't 100% secure tho - as in, I could see mailing addresses of people I was NOT matched with. I have no idea why I could see them as I wasn't an admin or anything, but just want everyone to know!

If you use Elfster- I think it does it for you and emails your person and their address to you.

I looked up Elfster - https://www.elfster.com/secret-santa/

It looks like I'd need email addresses. It also asks for a first and last name. I'd think we'd have to share that information in order to ship the gift. Let me know what everyone thinks. You could each PM me individually?

I wish I could participate, just don't have the finances right now. Sorry ladies I think it's awesome to do something for mom though! We all need that little pick me up every once in a while. Have fun! \:D/

Well, I suppose I'm even worse because I did think about it and chose not to tell him. He thinks I'm nuts for even being on this site and hates when I say "well on my board....".

Guys i would love to do this but I'm so damaged as a person that I'll probably be buying my own father's gift on Christmas Eve.  My goal is to purchase, wrap, and send Christmas gifts to my niece and nephews in Florida on time..... I think I'm setting myself up for failure with that as it is....

This is mine as well and possibly finances. I too thought about it but not sure I'm gonna tell him. Probably should meh we will see...is there a set amount that we should spend or shouldn't go over? I know any time I've done something like this at work or with family there has always been an amount so I was just curious. I like the gifts for moms idea as well. I'm pretty sure I'm in. I'll check with hubs tonight just in case and PM you @Jcrewgirl85‌

@Jcrewgirl85‌ my DH feels the same way about this board. Whenever anyone had an issue during pregnancy, I was scared it would happen to me and he didnt like that I worried. The other day I told him that alot of moms on here are having a hard time getting their babies to sleep, like us, and he thought it was interesting. I think he realized this site is helpful

Cool idea! I haven't been on here in a few days so I almost missed this but I think I have to pass anyway. I can barely get gifts out to people on time regularly let alone adding another person and prioritizing her.
