The days that I don't have to work and can take at least one nap are so much better for me. I would try and nap some during the day, if you can. I spend most days at work trying not to fall asleep at my desk...

I take naps in the car during my lunch break. I park in the shade away from the office, put up the sun visor, lean the seat back, and lay my head on a blanket I keep in the car.

I go to bed as early as I can, with the help of Tyleonol PM. I'm not normally a medicine taker, but if it means sleeping well and having energy, I'm doing it! I can't be tired for my job unfortunately, baby brain is bad enough as is!

If I remember correctly weren't you working multiple jobs? Any chance you can have one modified?

Have you spoke to your DR about testing iron levels?

I got a flu shot yesterday and went to bed at 8:30! Today I had to take two small cat naps in between working. I was attributing it to the shot (I sure hope I don't stay this tired- I can barely function!)

I am so there with you right now. My two year old son is sick right now as well and has been getting up from 3-6am and my alarm goes off at 6:30. its been a brutal week of being uncomfortable and feeling like I could fall asleep at my desk.

Ok, I may have gone overboard on the two previous mentioned posts, but this was legit. I am really dying of fatigue and came in to see if someone had a good suggestion to beat it.

But I thought you said that your comment to LadyThrice "... wasn't meant to be real mean or anything."   So are you now saying that you did mean it that way and went overboard?

Sounds lame but diet (not eating less but eating better) and exercise help me a lot. I feel better when I eat well and I sleep so well when I work out...I seriously don't even get up in the night to go to the bathroom! Try a 10 minute walk and see if it does anything.

The main thing is to not beat yourself up...you have a baby inside you that gets first dibs on all your energy and nutrients...it's literally impossible to compete :) Have your husband cook/clean so you can put your feet up at night.

I wish I could nap but my mind is always racing with thoughts of all the things I need to do.

Try writing everything down before a nap. I keep paper next to my bed/in my car, or I use the notes in my phone, then if I think of anything I wrote it down. It helps with getting my mind to slow down.

This is a fantastic idea. Stealing it.

    Sleep as much as possible!

Learn to fall asleep. I know that sounds weird but with my 2 insane kids I've had to learn to force myself to sleep when they are or to nap to help.

I feel like I've been tired since I was preg with dd1 though.

I haven't read the responses yet, this might be repeated. I told my OB today the same thing. It felt like over night was exhausted. Not a gradual thing, just like I hit a wall all of a sudden. My iron was on the low end and she said it's possible that it's dipped down too far. She told me about an iron supplement to take and we get retested at 36 weeks.

I'll look for the brand she recommended because she said it's the only one she's found that doesn't cause constipation, something to do with it dissolving in your stomach and not intestines.

Also, rest as often as you can. Easier said than done I know but try to take it easy when you can.

Are you eating a well balanced diet?

I second the water. I didn't think about protein though. @eora3 does Ambien make you sleep walk at all? I worked with a woman at the hospital years ago and she had the craziest stories about the stuff she did at night. At least 3/5 days a week there was a new story. I wish I could remember them all but I do remember us all laughing our ass off at some of them.

I remember her telling us that she was so happy her husband had started setting the coffee timer for her because she never remembered. For almost 3 weeks she would wake up to hot coffee. She told her husband thanks for doing it and he said "um....you've been getting up about 1:30 every morning and setting it...did you not know that?" he didn't even know she was sleep walking!

It sounds like she was taking too high of a dose. I am actually prone to sleepwalking (when stressed or over tired) and have never had an issue when I take Ambien.

I cut the pills in half (so about 3.5 mg) so it is just enough to help me get to sleep. I can easily get up at night to take care of one of the kiddos if they have a nightmare or if I have to pee. I hate taking anything but with two toddlers requiring my full attention all day, I have to sleep. I don't take it every night but it is definitely a "several times a week" type thing.

Maybe that's what it was. A local radio station had people calling in talking about the weird things they've done while taking a sleeping pill. It was entertaining but it's actually sad to think they might be taking the wrong dosage.

My brother is also a sleep walker and doesn't take sleeping aides. Walker and talker, it was creepy at times because we'd have a full conversation and then realize he was sleeping!

No way to overcome the tiredness. According to my OB, this is a common 3rd trimester symptom. It's the waiting game at this point. Drink water, get rest and count down until baby gets here.

    There is no hope…

    1) Must drink water to stay hydrated/alive
    2) Water makes you pee
    3) Having to pee inturrupts sleep (over and over and over)
    4) Going pee losing your hydration…
    5) See #1

Haha I love this. Soo true. :)

I like the suggestion about writing things down - I am a huge list maker and would never sleep otherwise.

Because of the peeing at night thing (and also because H wakes me up often with our opposing schedules) I've had to learn a new trick to fall back asleep: I have to actually focus on the sound of my own breathing in order to fall asleep. Otherwise I just stay awake and think about the thousand things I should do right now...which comes back to the most important thing at that time (sleeping) b/c I can't survive on 6 or fewer hours of sleep.

I've pretty much given up and have just accepted that I will be tired from now until this kid is....um, who knows how old.

I've just been trying to eat as well as I can, get outside for some fresh air and take it easy when I get home from work.

Just take advantage and sleep bc pretty soon you will be wishing to lay around and sleep all day. But I have no motivation And feel like gravity is just pulling me down.

I am so glad to read that all of you are feeling this way.  I was feeling great until last Sunday (31 weeks) and all week I have been DRAGGING.  Getting through the day is a chore.  Last night I went for a short walk and came home and had round ligament pain, so I am wondering if our baby boy is going through a growth spurt and sucking all my energy to grow.  I called my OB yesterday to see if feeling this exhausted is normal and she told me that it is, especially when I am working full-time and the maybe is putting on extra weight.  I could cry thinking about how badly I want to feel like myself again and wake up without belly aches and indigestion and all the other lovely pregnancy symptoms.
