@MrsGiantPenis - they are amazing. If you go to Philly, ignore Pat's and Geno's and even Steve's. Go to Jim's Steaks or Tony Luke's. You will not regret it.
I thought you were asking about two separate foods, steak and also cheese subs, which i assumed were grilled cheese. Even an Oxford comma would not have helped with this misunderstanding.
I freakin' HATE ketchup! Anything that I would normally eat ketchup with gets replaced with bourbon BBQ sauce, on fries, and in burgers. Otherwise if it's a hotdog or beer brat it's spicy mustard and kraut. I would never put anything on philly cheese steaks. They are perfect the way they come
Re: Do you put ketchup on your steak and cheese subs?
Kidding. I don't care what you eat on your sub but it always weirded me out when my roommate in college would pour ketchup all over hers.

The answer is no for me and we call them cheesesteaks.

Who puts fake cheese on a cheesesteak?
