I'm wanting to make LO a stocking. My mom is going to quilt the stocking part, and I want to cross-stitch his name across the top. I need a pattern, and I've never done something where I have to make the pattern myself for the alphabet part. Is there someone on F14 who can help me not suck at this?
ive never done it myself, but i found this. it looks simple enough. im sure you can print out the font you want on the computer and then stencil it onto the graphing paper like she shows
@chiawombat I would love that. I'd like a font that's kind of Christmas-y. Can you give advice on how to chart it out in terms of spacing between the letters?

Depends on how your doing it. Are you going to stencil your letters first or are you going to do counted cross-stitch?
Ugh. Christmas is coming.....I think I'm going to avoid sewing for one more year. I have no idea what it looks like but I know we put up a little stocking for him last year and we filled it with tiny things we bought for him. But my brain can't even remember what it looks like---definitely store bought. Ours were a horrible fabric and a pain to sew- took me 2 years to finally finish the project (lots of stops). Maybe I'll pick a different more fun pattern for LO next year.
