Christmas Photos

ya, ya. I know it's early. But I just booked a Christmas Mini photo shoot for Hannah today. And I'm wondering if any of you fine ladies have a unique idea for outfits or props to bring? All I can think of is the normal stuff. And I want to make sure if it's something I have to order online I have the time.

Anybody else doing Christmas photos this year?

We just happen to be doing P's 6 month photos in November, and thought it would be a perfect time to get some Christmas pics to put on our Christmas cards.  I saw one super cute idea where the dad wore a Santa jacket, and was reaching a plate of cookies out to the toddler.  You could only see the dad's arm, so he didn't need a full suit or anything.  I actually think it was just a sleeve prop they had, but anyway.  Oh, you probably could just make a red velvet sleeve with a white faux fur trim. 

For clothes, I guess I'm kinda traditional and all I can think of is little velvet dresses.  But I will be following this thread to see what ideas everyone else has!

We have newborn pictures schedule for LO#2 at a week old so 12/1. I'm hoping we can get a decent picture of the 2 of them in time to use for holiday cards. It will definitely be tight, time wise! I wonder if it would be bad to do a combo announcement and holiday card??

They already have coordinating Christmas PJ's but I don't think I'll have time to do much besides that.

@TJ1979 I think the Santa arm idea is awesome! Hubby laughed and approved when I told him

@Ducky719 haha, we already took our Christmas card photos, I even ordered some. Hey I had 10 free cards from Shutterfly, better use them while I can! I plan on just putting the picture of Hannah in the cards for Christmas

@CCAM I've received announcement/Christmas cards before, why not? Save on mailing out two separate things right around the same time. You could always to the announcement as a separate thing inside to save postage if you want

@ccam‌ I think the combo is totally fine. I've gotten them before. And many, many combo Christmas/pregnancy announcements. Unfortunately those never got to be displayed bc of IF hurt. But they were cute.

I booked family maternity photos with our photographer right about the end of November (she is also doing baby girl's newborn photos - I did neither with G and totally regret it now) so I am hoping to use those for a holiday card too. We'll see if the timing works out.

For prop ideas - last year we did family photos and she brought a mini Xmas tree and I brought some ornaments. They turned out pretty cute.

Last year we took photos with Santa. @ccam‌ I did the combined announcement with DD who was born on 12/4. I think I sent them out the week after Christmas but did the whole and Happy New Year thing. I plan on doing the same thing this time

I'm feeling very behind. Haven't thought about photos for the holidays yet but really need to. I made calendars for the grandparents last year for Christmas but they were a lot of work. I've already been asked if they will get them every year. I'm really going to try to keep doing them.
