*** 3rd Tri Checkin 7/23/2014 ***

edited July 2014 in Pregnant after IF
Hi all, I saw LilSip0611's announcement and call for someone to take over the checkin.  I PM'd her that I'd do it if nobody else had, and figured I might as well start it out for this week.  I will probably only be able to do this for another few weeks, since I may be having a C-section on 8/27, so hopefully someone else will step up by then!  :)

This is a weekly check-in for members in their third trimester. You can feel free to join at 28 weeks and we will bid you an excited farewell when you greet your little ones!  If you are new, please include your EDD and team in your post.  :)

Congratulations @amwenz (Team Green turned Blue!) and @LilSip0611 (Team Double Pink!) on the arrival of your little ones! Hope the moms and babies are all doing well!

@marnief - thanks for taking over!!

How far along are you? 34+2 twin girls
Upcoming appointments? twice weekly NSTs, next OB on Monday. I'm taking a pumping class this weekend - for some reason the pump really intimidates me and I'd like to be able to pump once a day so eventually DH can take over some feeds and also for when I go back to work.
Any updates to share? Girls have been doing well on their NSTs. Apparently they are very active which is good but sometimes makes it hard to keep them on them on the monitor. I had four small contractions on the monitor the other day but I only felt one of them. On the home front - DH and I have been nesting - we just had a patio poured and our back yard sodded (before it was decomposed granite - better for the environment but not very child friendly) - I really love it! We've also purged a lot of stuff and reorganized things. Our freezer is fully stocked thanks to friends and Costco. Psychologically however, we're not feeling very prepared.
How are you feeling? I'm feeling pretty wiped out. I've also had some pretty bad pubic pain (I think the joint is loosening). I'm ready to stop working - only 1.5 weeks to go. I feel OK once I actually get to work but for some reason I dread going. I'm thankful to have been able to keep working this long. My cankles appear to be here to stay :)

QOTW:  What's your favorite childhood book that you're excited to share with your LO(s)?

Hi @marnief‌ I guess my request to be added last week was missed :) I'm 29d5d. Had an unexpected OB appt on Monday which jumped my biweekly check to next week. I've been having terribly strong contractions and pressure when working too hard. Went in for a cervical check Monday - cervix is closed but soft. Was told to try and cut back my hours at work. Was also told I definitely do not have GD so I can d/c checking my glucose levels :) SUPER stoked about that :) Nursery is almost complete (thanks to awesome DH for labor and amazing mom for buying stuff) Feeling overall excited and happy, although super tired and massively sore as my hips are spreading. Sleep and I aren't much of friends these days....happy week to you all!! QOTW: SOOO many books! The very hungry caterpillar, velveteen rabbit, book of nursery rhyme stories.....

Me:Hypothyroid DH: Type II diabetic. Together since 03/2007, Married 10/2011, D/C bc 10/2011. TTC: 11/2011. Charted BBT and CV along with OPK 10/2011-02/2012 Baseline labs 02/2012 WNL, SA 03/2012: botched sample by lab - destroyed hubby's confidence. 04/2012 Clomid 05/2012 Clomid 06/2012 Clomid 07/2012 Clomid and Ovidrel 08/2012 Ovidrel (I never knew that I was supposed to be monitored while on meds...I never was. I asked for u/s and other tests to see why we weren't getting pregnant, doc just kept giving me meds and telling me to go to his church for a "laying of hands") Stopped all monitoring/testing/temps, etc, Sex became a chore and we started to grow apart. At 12 mos I decided to look for another doc. 02/2013 consult with new doc....3 days later testing began...u/s, all good, HSG: all good, labs: all good, ovulating, etc. Started on Pregnitude. 04/2013 failed attempt for SA, 05/2013 failed attempt SA. 12/2013 SA: 3% morph, abnormal functionality. DH started Pycnogenol. RE consult 01/15/2014.

    ALL Welcome :)

38 weeks today and tomorrow is my last day of work before my loa starts. I still have 2 NSTs and an ob appointment every week. Gracie scored a 10/10 on Tuesday's NST and I have another on Friday along with the ob appointment. Less than 2 weeks until my c section on 8/5... Things are definitely getting real :-)
8/2011: Diagnosed with ovarian cancer, ovaries and tubes removed

    12/2011: Finished chemo

    5/2013: Cleared for DE IVF

Hi ladies, hope everyone is doing well.

How far along are you?  36w1 day

Upcoming appointments?  Biweekly appt next Wednesday

Any updates to share?    Everything is good with me, cervix still closed and doctor thinks the baby will be a little less than 7 lbs.  I hope so since we are planning on an un-medicated labor and delivery.  Daycare is confirmed, I dropped of the deposit yesterday for our little guy when he's about 12 weeks old.  The nursery is all done, we installed the cordless blinds, and car seat is installed.

How are you feeling?  I developed the PUPPP rash about a month ago.  It started on my upper arm, and then it went away after using hydrocortisone and a prescription cream.  Then the rash appeared behind my knee and upper thigh.  It's very itchy and annoying!

QOTW:  What's your favorite childhood book that you're excited to share with your LO(s)?  I really liked the Bearenstein Bears and the easy to read Ms. Happy (each character was an emotion) book for when he gets older and starts reading.

@marnief Saw your post re: amniotic fluid levels, and thinking of you! Thanks for handling this week's check in.

     How far along are you?
     34w1d

Upcoming appointments? Biweekly OB appt tomorrow, which includes an internal exam. So that should be fun. :\

    Any updates to share?
We are feeling almost ready for baby, and know what else is left to do before she arrives. Having a handle on that feels SO good!

Also, my mom's still in the hospital -- going on 5 weeks. But she's still feeling ok and is now awaiting test results that will let her know how effective treatment has been and whether she'll get to go home soon. Fingers crossed!

    How are you feeling?
Excited. Kind of scared that the due date is approaching so quickly. But mostly excited. Also exhausted and have lots of indigestion. But both are totally manageable.

QOTW: What's your favorite childhood book that you're excited to share with your LO(s)?
I loved Dr. Seuss and Shel Silverstein books. We got lots of both at our shower, so am super excited to read those to her.

Began TTC #1 in Sept. 2010. I was 33, DH was 36.. Dx with DOR and slight MFI (8/4/11).

    Test results (after first RE visit 6/21/11): 7DPO b/w: Progesterone = 11.3; CD3 b/w: FSH = 10.1 mUnits/mL, E2= 52.0 pg/mL, AFC: 6; SIS Ultrasound: Uterus great, tubes clear! AMH: 0.3

    IUI#2 July 2012 (Follistim/HCG trigger): BFN

    Jan. 2013 New RE
IVF #1 June 2013 MDL Protocol. Converted to IUI#4.1. (High E2 and 3+ mature follicles at first monitoring.) BFFN

How far along are you?  29 weeks and 3 days
Upcoming appointments? Just had one yesterday with OBGYN.  Good Blood Pressure and no dehydration! Yeah!  Drinking over 100 oz of water a day is making a HUGE difference!  Sadly, my GD numbers have been either too low or too high at odd times. So next week I will be seeing a nutritionist to help me tighten up my dietary choices to see if we can control this gestational diabetes with diet alone. My next appointment will be next Tuesday with the OBGYN.
Any updates to share? Wound up at Labor and Delivery directly from my dr. appointment as fetal movement was slowing down in the last 2 days.  I was there for 3.5 hours and of course, the babies were kicking so much that they knocked the monitors off!  LOL  It looks like baby A may be breech now and baby B must have moved as well.  My dr. was having a hard time finding their heart rates at the office visit too.  To be cautious, she sent me to L and D for some monitoring. 2nd visit there and everyone was super nice!
How are you feeling?  Other than tired from the hospital visit last night and hot from not having AC the last two days, I'm doing ok.  We are waiting on a repair person for the AC and I plan to take it easy today at home.

QOTW:  What's your favorite childhood book that you're excited to share with your LO(s)? THE GIVING TREE by Shel Silverstein.  I just LOVE that book!

My best to everyone this week!  I hope it's an easy week for everyone!
    :)

Upcoming appointments? I have weekly NSTs with MFM. Just saw the OB Tuesday who said everything is looking good and measuring on track- will have a growth scan next week as well with MFM as she said LO looked to be a bit small a couple weeks ago.

Any updates to share? MFM put me on insulin- it was that or Glyburide, and I am not a fan of oral meds because they cross the placenta. It's no different than the injects we used to get pregnant so I didn't get too excited about that, but I was very sad that I couldn't control GD with diet. Really made me feel like a failure (even though I know better) and I (embarrassingly) cried in front of her. She looked at me like I'd grown an extra head- really, is it that uncommon for stressed out pregnant women to cry?! Ugh.

How are you feeling? I feel pretty good physically. Movement is so strong sometimes it hurts but I'm glad because that means LO is healthy and NSTs won't take forever. Otherwise I'm just huge and HOT.

QOTW:  What's your favorite childhood book that you're excited to share with your LO(s)?
I'll second The Giving Tree as well as every other Shel Silverstein book.

@Lizarella82 ....Hang in there!  I cried just hearing I had GD.   I've heard even with good choices in diet, the sugar levels just are beyond what our bodies can control while pregnant. SO MANY people have been sharing their stories with me and are preparing me should insulin be my next step after the nutritionist visit next week.  You ARE A TROOPER!  Be good to yourself!   :)

@mmhopeful thank you for the encouragement! I had a big old pity party, complete with "last" milkshake, the night I got my diagnosis. I just put so much effort into following the diet with religious fervor, and to know that all the counting and restricting and discipline did me zero good was a blow. Being hungry all the dang time was the pits though, and made me way more emotional, so the insulin is a good thing because it's allowed me to relax a bit. Good luck with the nutritionist- I hope you avoid meds all together (or for as long as possible).

@marnief would you add me as well? Due 10/10 with twin boys Thanks!

How far along are you? 29 weeks, 3 days.
Upcoming appointments? Back on an every 2 week schedule, so next week for a cervical check and hopefully a general peek at the boys :)
Any updates to share? I passed my 1 hour with "flying colors" - super pumped about that! We had a growth ultrasound last week and the boys are both looking good, almost 3lbs each.
How are you feeling? I'm OK. Getting more uncomfortable earlier in the day which sucks. I could handle it when I hit my sitting limit at 2 or 3 in the afternoon, but 10AM is a little early to want to be done with work!

QOTW:  What's your favorite childhood book that you're excited to share with your LO(s)? I love the Madeline books, but I'm not sure 2 little boys are going to want to read that one. I've been looking through all of my childhood books to see what a few winners might be. Curious George keeps popping up for me too.

@marnief thank you for taking this over!

So I know this is last week's check in and I'm really late but here goes:
How far along are you?  35W 2d
Upcoming appointments? end of the week. I"m now on weekly appointments, which is a little freaky because it means I'm getting close!
Any updates to share?  Excited but so nervous and have so much left to do! MIL has been staying with us for a while due to a variety of reasons, and this week she's been really helpful washing the things we'll need right away and just moving stuff around where I want it.  Unfortunately for her, I'm more tired and irritable so I"m also snippy :(
How are you feeling?  Tired & irritable. Sick of family members telling me we still have a lot to do and the baby might come early, so rather than about a month, we may only have a couple weeks to get things done...no sh!t sherlock. All that does is add pressure and stress on me.

QOTW:  What's your favorite childhood book that you're excited to share with your LO(s)?  Good question! Just Me and My Dad...one of the Richard Scary books. And Little Bear. And Clifford.

Attempted IUI #2 (Menopur injections only cycle) better response on the Menopur then the Follistim combination treatment cycle however my cycle was still canceled due to my eggs not maturing and follicles not growing enough on a high dose of Menopur (Re said I could try a cycle of comid + ovidrel  for an IUI) for my second IUI( praying this works for us)

Clomid + Ovidrel protocol worked still a BFN as a result
