I was just informed that at my appt this afternoon I could expect to have a Freestyle DNA test done as an alternative for an amnio or CVS test. I can't seem to find much about it at all anywhere? Anybody have this done? Is it as accurate as an amnio? Maybe it's called something else and this is just a term my doctor uses?
I'm pregnant with #3, and I remember with #1 I had the Quad Test and 2 out of 4 hormones were elevated. I went from at 1/1200 chance of the baby having Downs to 1/50 (due to my age, etc.). In short, this year, I was offered a new test. They just take your blood and send it off to a lab in CA (it does cost about 200$ out of…
So, this a question that has been bothering. The father of my child is denying that the baby is his. And he wants a DNA test done. When is the best time to get those done. I have read on some websites that having it done while pregnant is the best. And then others say do it after the birth of the baby. I am willing to get…
Anyone else going to purchase the DNA genetic gender test "Sneak Peek"? WE DID. I have some friends who used the test and it was correct. After checking it out and reading reviews, I was totally down. We wanted to know the gender ASAP so that we can call baby their name. Turns out..... BOY! The claim is that it's 99%…
I went in for my first blood work appointment this morning and was thrilled to find out that they could tell me the gender of my baby in a week by fetal DNA testing through a blood sample. I thought I would have to wait until my 20 week ultrasound! Has anyone else found out this way? Is it pretty accurate?
No test is 100% accurate. My story above shows that even seeing the anatomy scan at 21 weeks it was ambiguous. I trust DNA tests more than an A/S now given my personal experience.
I believe everyone here is just wondering why you're asking about the sex of the baby when you have already had a Cell Free DNA test done. These tests extract the baby's DNA from your blood, and are so much more accurate than reading an u/s (Google cell free DNA test to learn more). The anatomy scan is usually when the…
Anyone else being offered cellfree DNA testing? I am not sure I'd it is fully in place of nt scan or if I could get both , but this test is supposed to be more accurate I think. I'm go ba go for it as soon as I can set it up but just wondering who else is doing it. Bonus side effect learning the sex super early
I should find out Monday or Tuesday (14 weeks). I had the MaterniT21 blood test done and that includes the gender, which is 99.4% accurate because they are actually testing the baby's DNA. Just waiting for my results.
A little over two weeks ago the doctor told us our baby had a higher risk of down syndrome because the NT measurement was 3.4mm. We had the MaterniT21 DNA test done to get a more accurate result and finally got the results today! Longest 2 weeks ever! I am ecstatic to report that our baby's test results were negative…
