Oh yea, and although I feel that I am quite crunchy, I would never attempt an unassisted homebirth. Having to be transfered for DDs birth AND having a picture perfect homebirth with DS where literally all my MW did was be my crutch while I stood and birthed and then weighed/measured him, I still have enough sense to know that even though childbirth is typically a very normal event, it is NOT AT ALL predictable. I agree totally that someone who chooses an unassisted homebirth is selfishly putting their child at risk of injury or death. I could read a thousand success stories and still feel that way.
