My husband and I are finally pregnant after eight and a half years of trying! I am 39 years old and he is 49 years old. We live in San Diego California. I am homemaker and he is a software architect at Sony. I didn't intend on staying home. I have a graduate degree in public administration but when infertility took hold, I couldn't keep working.  Initially our problems were only malefactor but as time went on, my eggs got older and we were both the problem. We have done lots of rounds of medication, 3 DS IUIs, various corrective surgeries, TESE, 4 successful egg retrievals, one cancelled egg retrieval, and one FET.   We chose to do pgs testing on our first egg retrieval because half were inseminated with DS and half were inseminated with my husband's tese sperm and we weren't certain how his would do given his SCSA results (his DNA fragmentation was one of the highest his fertility urologist had ever seen). Remarkably none of the DS embryos tested normal whereas all of the ones with my husband's DNA did. We haven't tested any of the other embryos. We may in the future though as we have 9 left. My due date is December 19.
