Dumb q but when will I get to hear the HB?

Will it be at my first appt? It's scheduled for when I'll be 8 weeks along...

We heard the HB at our appt at 12 weeks.

I'm still waiting!!! If you have an u/s at your 8wk appt. (which I don't think is common unless they feel the NEED to do it) you'll get to see and maybe hear it... otherwise, you'll be like me... hoping to hear it on doppler at the 12.5wk appt!

You can't really hear the HB with an external doppler until the uterus has made it out of the pelvis (about 12 weeks). If you get an internal ultrasound for whatever reason, you will hear and see the heartbeat (usually visible from around 6 weeks on).

It really depends. ?I believe you can hear it as early as 10 weeks on a dopplar. ?Could be before then.

If you have an u/s, you should see the heartbeat.?

We saw and heard the heartbeat at 8w5d (external).

We heard the hb by doppler at 9 weeks, but my doctor said there would be a good chance he wouldn't be able to pick it up that early.

We saw the heartbeat at 8w2d, but I really felt like Rachel from Friends because everyone else (DR, med student, and BF) saw it, but I really couldn't. I assume they will try to hear it at 12w2d when I go in for my next appt.

They tried at 9W5D but couldn't hear it, I got an US instead.

We heard the HB at our appt last week (8w,1d)... My Dr. did an internal ultrasound to confirm viability. Wish I could go every week! Next appt isnt until Wk 13.?
