How cool is it that Bill O'Reilly got completely served by Jessica Alba this week?
After she declined to give a shout-out to the show from the inaugural events last week, saying "No, I think he's kind of an a-hole," she was pressed further, for examples. Her reply?
"I think I'll just be Sweden about it."
O'Reilly reamed her on the show for being stupid and not knowing the difference between Sweden and Switzerland.
Alba struck back on her blog, saying it's very sad he thinks the only neutral nation in WWII was Switzerland, and suggesting he might want to brush up on his history.
I love it when the pretty girls are smart.
Re: Hate Bill O'Reilly? Come on in!
LOL!
My husband and I often use the "WE'LL DO IT LIVE" clip from the Soup when he was on Inside Edition for a few laughs.
He did make a good point. And honestly I somehow doubt that she is more informed than he is on things like that. She came across looking pretty stupid in that video. Especially the way she was acting towards the journalist. with the, "way to go, girl! you showed him!" attitude. She just came across as typical spoiled brat IMO. I liked her before that video, but that was a turn-off.
*sorry. typo
O'Reilly is an a$$hat. No question.
But I question whether Alba actually knew that about Sweden... I mean, it's not exactly a common english idiom and I'm betting her publicist wasn't like, "Play on history buffs..." when advising her comment.
Still, I'm always glad when anyone or anything makes O'Reilly look like a loud mouth jacka$$.
ditto - that's pretty much what I was thinking. LOL

Oooh, hating on the sex symbol?
She graduated high school at 16, and then studied acting with William H. Macy and Felicity Huffman. I'm willing to bet she reads a little.
I'm not saying she isn't smart or doesn't read.
I'm saying there's no way a Hollywood publicist is going to be like, "See if the public generally realizes your diplomacy references! Most people think Switzerland = neutrality, but why don't you switch it up with Sweden! Then throw in something about Quizzling in Norway and the impact that had on British industry! Given Norweigan / Swedish tendencies this will go over great for your attempt to get a starring role in "Sin City 2."
Basically, no matter how smart she is or how much she's read I think she mispoke and said "Sweden" when she meant "Switzerland."
Yes, I know. She is hot.
That's why I was so disappointed at how irritating she was in that clip.
She may not be dumb, but Bill is pretty well-educated himself. Like him or not. Not to mention his years as a reporter took him all over the world to cover some major stories. Like many reporters.
Yeah, we do get around, don't we?
But that's exactly why he should realize that Sweden was, and is, one of the most famously neutral countries in the world. Just because the Swiss get all the good press. (We have to remain neutral. Otherwise, people come and take our chocolate.)
I agree with this. But I can't stand Bill O'Reilly too!
