Apparently I am afraid of the OB

I went in today for a follow up appointment to my appointment 2 weeks ago because my blood pressure was high at the beginning of the appointment and then fine at the end.  Well today, same thing.  It was 162 over 120 or so and then at the end like 130 over 72 (still a pinch high but it was going down so they didn't make me wait to take it again).  I have to get some bloodwork on Monday but they must not be concerned because they set me up for my next appt in a month.  yipee! I work with a bunch of nurses so I am going to have them start taking my blood pressure so I have a record of how it really is day to day.

Re: Apparently I am afraid of the OB

  • Great idea to have taken every few days when you're not in a doctor's office.  I ended up having high bp at the end of my pregnancy, and I chalked it up to nervousness...although I didn't feel nervous?

  • Glad to hear your BP isn't an issue.  And knowing what it is day to day in a relaxed environment is a good idea!
  • Ya, I have never had problems with my bp although i did gain a bit of weight right before i got pg and i haven't been working out as much as I was before either.  I am going to cut down on the salad dressings I'm using too (lots of salad dressing and a little too much soda - non caffeinated but still has sodium) so we'll see if that helps too.  :)
  • Well knowing that you were going in to check it, that could be why you were anxious....

Good to hear it's nothing to worry about though!!
