Babies: 9 - 12 Months

jumperoo ?

our friend let us borrow their jumperoo (no instruction manuel)...i'm confused about the height adjustment.  do we adjust it so that baby's feet are flat on the floor or only low enough so that he is on his tippy toes.

 are jumperoo's bad for development?

Re: jumperoo ?

  • just so his toes touch

it is fine in moderation (20-30 minutes at a time)

  • Just her toes should touch the floor.

DD loves hers and is developing just fine... :)

  • Actually, a physical therapist told me that we needed to adjust it so that his feet are flat. If not, he'll spend too much time pushing off with just his toes which can cause issues when he tries to walk later (since he'll need to be flat-footed then). She also said that used in moderation, it's fine but not to overuse because it could cause issues with hip development, trunk control, etc.

  • my instructions for mine say feet should be flat on the floor .But when i got it at first he was still not touching the ground in the thing so i put a plioow under him  and it worked great
  • Their feet need to be flat.....something about if they stand on their tippy toes their tendon will shorten and make them learn to stand/walk on their tippy toes.
