Adoption

Hello! Newbie here.

Hi, ladies.  After trying to conceive for over 2 years, and a chemical pg last month from our first IVF, we are looking into exploring adoption.  Are there any books that you recommend?  This is all just so new, I don't know where to begin.

 Thanks!

Peg

  • We got tons of information from Adoption for Dummies -- good luck!

  • Hi and welcome!

  • Hi Peg - welcome!  I also liked Adoption for Dummies, but the first book I read was the Ultimate Insider's Guide to Adoption by Elizabeth Swire Falker.  If you know next to nothing about the current state of adoption, as was the case for me, then I think it provides a great introduction.  It is written in a very conversational style and got me really excited about the prospect of adopting.  THEN I went to Adoption for Dummies and others to fill in the gaps.  This is a great group of ladies - glad you found your way here!
  • I agree that Adoption for Dummies is good.  We also read Adopting After Infertility by Patricia Johnson.
