2nd Trimester

We had our big sonogram yesterday...

We have decided not to find out the sex.  Although when my sister and brother in law looked at the pics, they said they can totally tell.  You just have to know what you are looking for.  I even had my boss look to see if he could tell and he could as well.  I am little upset by this, but not sure who I should be upset with.

Re: We had our big sonogram yesterday...

  • Not to sound rude, but there's really no one to be upset with except yourself for showing people. Trust me, if it's a boy, most of the time he'll be showing all his glory and there's no hiding it. A girl is usually 3 lines. If you don't want people to know, show people the u/s pics of the face and arms, not down there...
  • Loading the player...
  • Actually it was a side profile shot and I didn't even realize you could see anything from a side angle.  It wasn't the money shot or I would totally agree with you.
  • So now its your turn to look at the pics because you know you want too.
  • Don't let anybody ruin it for you. People are always going to say that they know something that you don't know etc etc. Unless there is a perfect "crotch shot"... (which would make it pretty obvious to you as to what it is)... I would say they are just full of sh*t- trying to get to you...
  • I don't want to know that was the whole reason for not having the tech tell us, but I do know how my sister is and the whole world will know before too long.

I told our tech that we didn't want to know, and we do not have any pics that may or may not show the sex. That tech should not have given her a pic of anything resembling a money shot.

And to the OP, those people might just be talking out their @sses. Just chalk it up to rude people and try to let it go. The RN at the OB office tried to tell me that the head was the body and the body was the head in one of my shots!?

Thanks girl...I hope you are right!

Well then I say lock up that side profile shot and only show the face if that's your safest bet at this point. What a bummer other people think they know and your sis can't keep a secret - hope she doesn't ruin it for you  : (

  • Profile shots are not by any means accurate.  That's how most people get inaccurate guesses.  If they don't see anything, the tech may say "well, I don't see anything so it may be a girl."  I had a profile shot, and you cannot see his goods, but he is ALL boy....even on the screen you didn't know it was a boy until she got a shot underneath his legs, not from the side.

I'm sorry they are acting like this.  Hopefully she doesn't go telling people, otherwise you may have a lot of miscommunication and end up with clothes for a specific sex.  If I were you, I wouldn't show anybody that picture if you don't want people to know...but seriously, I think they're just trying to get a rise out of you and make you want to find out.  Also, I would make it very clear to people that you aren't sure of the sex and do not want to know...and remind them that no one knows, that some people you know are simply making guesses.
