So Emma has become VERY difficult to feed. She squirms constantly and acts like she doesnt want the bottle, often pushing it out of her mouth, So I will take it out and try and give it to her again and she sucks a few times and repeats the process all over. She never cries and doesnt spit up a ton, so I never really thought of reflux, but now I am wondering. She grunts and tries to sit up (I usually feed her pretty upright anyway). And lately when she spits up, its a little on teh chunkier side. And then sometimes when I get her up from a nap and am changing her diaper, she will spit up foggy like liquid (like 2-3 hours after her last bottle). Last night at her bedtime bottle was the first time she cried while feeding her. She would suck a few times, and then cry. after about 10 minutes she finally started eating without crying.
I plan to talk to my pedi about it at their 4 mo. apt. (2 weeks), but I am just wondering if anyone else has had any experience with this kind of reaction? and if it was reflux, would it be so up and down like it is, or would she be like this every meal (although it seems to be more and more like that lately).
Re: XP: Do you think its Reflux???
IMO - I think you should call your ped and let him/her know the situation and asked to be referred to a ped GI specialist in the interim of you having your 4 month checkup. It "sounds" like she may have silent reflux, it could be nothing, or it could be something bigger. A GI specialist can run a few simple tests and give you a more accurate answer quickly, and most importantly make your daughter more comfortable.
My son Brady's reflux is very random. He'll go a week without any symptoms and then the next week have a ton. It can go up and down. Many times a prescription like Prevacid can help a ton with easier cases like this.
Good luck!?
