SSN & birth certificate ?

So, I vaguely remember filling out the birth certificate info, and I know we got an unofficial copy to take home... is there anything else I have to do, or will I automatically receive the real one? Or will I need to go to the vital records dept (or wherever) to request one?

Same with the SS card.. I think there was a place on the bc application to authorize applying for one...

I'll blame the pain meds for my lack of a complete recollection about all this..hehe..

    Hopefully you filled out the form at the hospital for the SS#- as long as you filled out everything they gave you, then you did :)

    As for the BC- you need to wait a while (they say 60 or 90 days I think) and then send in the part of what you took home along with the fee.

    ETA: If you have the birth certificate that they sent home with you it tells you what to do.

    Crap, I still need to request Liam's bc.  Why can't I remember to do this LOL!

    I think they said to wait 90 days to request the copy of the bc.  It took right at 4 months after I requested to finally get a copy.  Wake County is sssllloooowwww.
