"i kicked the puppy because he barked and woke the baby." reason? excuse?

that was a classic post on the nest that got flamed to high heaven. right? but she didn't have a reason OR excuse...

Well, I yell and hit our dog in the butt when he barks for no reason....I'll call it a reason and an excuse? Blah, I dunno...he's so hyper he doesn't even really notice it.

Don't be an a$$. A reason is an acknowledgment of the facts of how you got where you are. An excuse is an attempt to evade responsibility.

Holy crap... I work at a jail. And every single inmate there has a "reason" for why they are there. BUT THEY ARE ALL STILL THERE FOR A REASON!

Come on. The lack of responsibility here is pathetic. Wouldn't you know? Every single one there is also there because of SOMEONE ELSE and thats their REASON.
