Multiples

How often do you bathe and wash hair??

When we left the hospital, they stressed that we should bathe the girls about three times a week (in the winter when the air is dryer/cold) but should wash their hair every day to avoid cradle cap.  While I did this with DD, I am finding it very hard to keep up with the hair washing daily!  This sounds stupid I'm sure, since it takes about 15 minutes! LOL.  I would rather sleep!! :-)  Do you wash hair daily for your multiples?

  • They get a bath every other night. Seems to be fine for us!

  • No way could I wash hair every day. I am lucky if I wash my own every day!

When mine had cradle cap the washing didn't help anyways - I don't see how washing every day would make a difference. I just wipe hands and face with a wet washcloth each day and make sure to moisturize with gentle lotions (Cetaphil or Aquaphor).

Oh, and we only bathe about 2-3 times a week, still. One of mine has severe excema and the bathing makes it worse.
  • Even with a singleton I have never washed her hair every day!  We have done baths pretty much every other day since she came home from the hospital.  Of course, there have been a few 'incidents' with diapers or spaghetti that required additional baths, and I will admit that there have been a few times when we were a day late with the bath, but she looks pretty clean to me!
  • Every other day here- our nurses told us to follow that schedule and we've had no cradle cap :)
  • every other night. ?
  • Every night now.

  • Every other night - sometimes every night.
  • We started bathing ours every night around 7m b/c 1.) they were getting food in their hair, & 2.) ds was wearing a helmet & had to be shampooed every night. ?However, we only shampooed dd's hair every other night. ?The alternate night, we just "bathed" her in clear water (no soap, no shampoo). ?Prior to 7m, we only bathed them about 2-3 times a week & didn't use any soap or shampoo ever! ?FWIW, dd had cradle cap & ds did not. ?I honestly don't think the bathing frequency affected things...do whatever works for you! ?(We've been shampooing both every night since around 14-15m b/c meals have gotten pretty messy!) ?HTH!
  • When they were tiny we only bathed them once or twice a week. IT was just too hard to fit more baths into our days. They never had cradle cap either.
