When did you get a 3d ultrasound?

in 2nd Trimester

I really want to go for one of these but wondering when is the best time during your pregnancy to go and was it as cool as you had thought?

    We had one last week and the tech said at 24w they can still look kind of skeletal.  I didn't think he did, but maybe he will be cuter in a few weeks?  I don't know that I would say it was cool...but I would say it was less creepy than I thought it would be.  I will be interested to see how much he actually looks like the picture when he's born.

    Isn't the one at your ob a 3D? I went and had a 4D picture done at 16 weeks and it was amazing! We have a picture of Hayden, our son, smiling at us! We are going back at the end of March about 28 weeks to do it again. You will love it!!!!

    We went at 22 weeks just before DH shipped out. It was very cool to see how she moved and sucked on her fingers and stuck out her tounge. Here's link to 2 minutes of my video if you'd like to see what it looks like.

    I've heard 26-28 weeks is the earlies you would want to go...that's when the baby starts having some fat on them so they look more person-like!

    With DS, I had one done at 30 weeks. It turned out really well. I am doing it again with this one.

    I just posted our 4D picture of Hayden in my photo gallery. This was taken at 16 weeks and we are going back when he will have more fat etc., at 28 weeks!

    We're having one at 16w3d - a quick one to hopefully see the gender and for our mom & sis's to see the baby (it's always so exciting!). We'll have another longer one (which we get a discount on since we are doing an earlier one) between 27-32 weeks - that is when they recommend getting the best shots of the baby.
