If you went on bcp's after delivering...

How long did they tell you you needed to use back-up contraception?  My midwife told me I have to finish a whole pack, but the product insert says 7 days.  I suppose I should err on the side of caution, but what a PITA - condoms really irritate me since having DD, and I'm sore near my episiotomy site for 2-3 days after every time we have sex :-(

    She said to be safe, use backup during the whole first pack of pills.

     

    I just read Punkfiction's reply and she did make a good point... I might have been told to use backup during the whole back because I did not wait to start my period when I started the pack....

    if you start on the day you start AF - then you are good to go. if you start on any other day then youre "supposed" to wait like 7-10 days iirc. i dont know - i never wait LOL i just say screw it and if im preg, then so be it, but i have never gotten preg that way yet!
